1964 300K Hardtop. Original 413 replaced with a 440 stroker modified for 500 plus horsepower. Special hood with air scoops constructed with black matte finishadded. Original hood available shown in pictures. Build card and 300 Club International Factory Build code information available. Special exhaust system made. Gear Vendors automatic overdrive installed. Reason for modifications was to prepare for a Bonneville Salt Flats run making 130 mph back in 2007.The 130 mph club is for drivers who make over 130 mph but not more than 140 mph. For this class, he driver must wear a helmet but a roll cage is not required. Made one run making 116 mph.Weather was warmer than usual so salt was slushy. Getting traction wasdifficult.Three runs allowed but an accident delayed proceedings for well over an hour and the salt was worse than earlier so we packed it in. Big disappointment but it's a very fast car nonetheless.Other details-the headers on the car are for a 440; there is a special torque converter completed by a professional rebuilder; there is a special transmission, regular 440 transmission rebuilt professionally to beheavy duty for torque and for speed, 3 speed plus an automatic overdrive for a 4th gear witha pushbutton control on the dash for theoverdrive; specially built rear springs to accommodate higher numerical gear ratios for high speed runs;stock torsion bars; special struts; original factory cross ram car. Seven pages listing expenses for parts purchased for the restoration. Totals over $47k. Don't expect to recover anywhere near that but telling you to give an idea of the quality of this older restoration. Went on a New Year's Day run up the coast on Hwy 1 and back roads with around 100 other cars. Broke from the pack and enjoyed several miles of open run. It's a fun machine.
