Description of 1959 Chrysler Imperial CROWN |
1959 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL Here is one fabulous car. The is a extremely original 1959 Chrysler Imperial hardtop that has been owned by the same man since 1976. The car runs and drives but needs brake work. The power brake booster is missing. The car was factory loaded with futuristic "swivel" driver and passenger front seats. A knob labeled "Auto Pilot" must be cruise control, ower Windows, ower Seats, ront and Rear Air Conditioning, lock, ower Steering and Power Brakes and a big 413 V8 and push button transmission. The body is extremely straight and the car has been in Texas all its life. Most of the car is very solid. However, the man lived down a dirt road, nd the outer rockers picked up dirt over the years, hich eventually aided in rusting those areas. The original floors are solid as well as the trunk. There's a area on the right front bumper and below each side of the rear glass that has rust. (I have located a front bumper if buyer wants topursueit.) The glass is very nice and so is the trim. The original interior is quite nice really and the car was driven till 2008 when the car developed a brake issue. I guess it was pulled off and they had a hard time findng one in the small town. I saw one on eBay. The ignition key was missing, o I bought a new old stock blank and had it re-keyed. This is a really awesome car to restore, uch beautiful styling. If you've got questions, I've got answers...call me Hawkeye Wills 210-548-1310. The car comes with its original Texas Title.
