He had this car when I started there. where it's been kept inside except when he's taken it to shows or on AACA tours. I've asked him about the car's history and about the engine. It was rebuilt at about 50. 00 miles. I asked him why. with so low of miles. He told me the first owner was old and hadn't driven it a whole lot the last several years and none the last year. that it sat for a year in his garage. He said when these old Chrysler engines sit very long. they have problems with the valves sticking. As I said before he's a member or the local AACA chapter and planned on driving it on tours. He started by pulling the heads to have done and then said what the heck. since he planned on the car as a driver. just pulled the whole engine and gave it to the machine shop that's next door to our garage and they went though it. He bought it from the original owner. an elderly gentleman. making it a two owner car. The paint is original. the interior is all original and spotless. it looks like nobody's ever sat in the back seat. It has a new aluminum radiator and and a brand new battery. The owner has several antique cars and has decided to down-size his collection. The is easily an eight thousand dollar plus car. it is priced to sell. I wouldn't hesitate to get in this car and drive it across country tomorrow. - spdrcr5500 |
