Description of 1955 Chrysler New Yorker |
|
1955 ChryslerWindsor DeLuxeNassau Coupe . Body:There are is no body damage or rust, the chrome is complete and in decent shape but not perfect, the paint is over 30 years old and is starting to show its age but shines up nicelyand still has some years left. The windshieldhas a bruisebut there is no cracked glass all windows go up and down well. I have not had the car on a hoist but by crawling underneath the frame and floors look good the trunk is also very good. The car has 5 Kelsey Hayes wire wheels as well as the Chrysler full disc wheel covers. Interior:The interior is very good with very little wear, the carpet is nice, the headliner is excellent, there are no modificationsor extra speaker holes, the radio is stock and the rear package tray is very good. Mechanical:The engine runs quiet and smooth, theexhaustis solid, it steers well and retains the original 6 volt electric system with a healthy battery. There are no warning lights on. The brakes are spongy (I think from sitting) but I do not see any leaks. I took the car on a four hundredmile road trip in the fall and it performed beautifully. The tires have good tread and all gauges work properly. History:This Chrysler was purchased from an estate in Victoria British Columbia where I am told was bought new. Snow is almost unheard of there and that probably explains why rust is not an issue for this car. After being purchased from the estate the car was driven to the souther interior of British Columbia. I saw the car and spent a few years trying to negoitiate a purchase. Finally a couple of years ago I was successful. It is not a restored car, it is a very well looked after car that has led a charmed life. Reason for selling:I bought to add to my existing car collection, now I'm in the process of a life style change that does not have room for multiple cars, so sadly I am startingto break down the collection.. Over all:This is a very desirableand stunning car. If you are in the market for an affordable classic that is increasing in value and does not need thousandsof dollars spent on it to bring it up to standards then this may be the right car for you. Payment:I am offering this car with a starting bid at less than half of what I paid for it, withno reserve, because I'm serious about selling it. If you are considering bidding please be certainyou can complete the sale.I make no exceptions on payment, it is due in full within 5 days of the end of the auction. You must contact me with 24 hours of the close of the auction to confirm payment and pick up arrangements. Payment by bank wire transfer or cash in person is acceptable. I can arrange storage in secure underground parking at the buyers expense (90.00 per month) if the buyer needs extra time. Shipping and Importation: US buyers... The car is located near Salmon Arm British Columbia I can ship the car to the boarder at Blaine Washington for for US for 350.00. US Customs will NOT charge duty on this car, I am very familiar with the process and will help with the necessary paperwork to import and title the car in your state (it is a simple process on a vintage car). Canadian Buyers... This car has an active British Columbia registration I can help with shipping to most Canadian locations. Over seas buyers... I can deliver the car to the ship yards at the Port of Vancouver for 350.00 and will work with your broker to help with the importation.
