| For sale by owner 1948 Chrysler New Yorker 4-Door with clear Wyoming title. 84,000 original miles. (You’ll have to take my word for it, the odometer numbers have been obliterated by the heat.) Straight-eight engine, fluid-drive transmission, rear “suicide” doors. Engine hasn’t run in several years now, so it may need some work to start. To my knowledge it has not been rebuilt or ever been apart. Wiring was replaced 40 years ago, but electrical system is still 6 volt positive ground. It ran smooth and shifted correctly when parked. The interior is pretty rough, the old cloth seats and door panels have had it. The summer heat is starting to do a number on the old bakelite plastic dash parts as well. Body is still in good condition, there is a crease in the quarter trim and some filler in the driver side fender and door where Grandma backed into a pole at some point in the 1950’s. Paint is starting to go away as well with some surface rust showing through. The old gal has sat outside in the elements for quite some time now and needs to rescued from this miserable climate. The car needs brake work and tires obviously, but still has all the major mechanical, body and trim parts, even still has the glass taillights! Chrome is starting to pit, but all the myriad exterior trim pieces are there. All in all this is a fairly complete car that just needs a little TLC! Selling as is, where is. All reasonable offers will be considered. Cash sale only! Sorry, it seems all other methods of payment can be faked these days. Buyer is responsible for transport of vehicle after sale!
