Description of 1985 Chrysler Laser XE |
1985 Chrysler Laser XE with 2.2 "Turbo I" engine. Sold new in Riverside, CA and has lived in Southern California since. I am the third owner. This is an easy project car that will be a hit at any retro Radwood-style car show. Selling because I no longer have the space for it. Engine runs great, with a new headgasket and cylinder head rebuild 300 miles ago. The turbo is in good condition and builds boost as intended. I've installed a Fidanza adjustable camshaft sprocket (Currently set to OE-spec cam timing). The car was running slightly rich at my last smog test, culprit is likely the O2 sensor. Car will be sold PNO if buyer is in CA for this reason. AC compressor clutch is also seized, AC is non operational for this reason. Interior is in near perfect condition with no rips or tears. Fabric on the rear seats, door panels, and passenger seats appears nearly new. Driver's seat will look the same with a good clean. Dashboard has no cracks. Some minor interior plastics are discolored or cracked. All interior electronics function as intended including the digital dashboard, in-dash computer, power windows/locks/seats and "Electronic Voice Alert." Two copies of the original "build sheet" and other period documentation I received with the car will be included, along with a factory service manual. Exterior is in very good condition with a few small imperfections... but will need body work on the lower half. The car came with chrome rocker trim which I removed, unfortunately this damaged the paint. I've sanded and primed most of the affected areas, they will just need paint and clearcoat. There was also some Bondo uncovered behind the driver's side door, however the Autocheck report shows no accidents. Rear bumper shows some fading so I was planning on having that repainted too. Windshield was replaced with new glass last year. The moldings on the front fenders were cracked, but I will include two (gold) new old stock ones. An 80s front end bra will also be included. Underside was coated when new and is in near perfect condition. Solid with absolutely no major rust. The Good:
