1969 Chrysler Newport Convertible – 383 2bbl Auto A/C – Runs and Drives AZ CarCar is in overall good shape for its age and is very rust free. There is some surface rust and a couple of small pinholes in the trunk. Car was mildly restored at one point. but is showing age. Will need paint as the clear coat is flaking off. Windows have been etched with a cool beach scene. Car starts right up even when cold. Engine and transmission have been rebuilt about 20 years ago. but car has not been driven much since then. The transmission does have a small leak. but I believe it is just the pan gasket. which is a very common problem on Chrysler products. Title shows 17. 00 original miles (Box A). odometer shows 5. 91. so I believe it may have been rolled back when engine was rebuilt or a new cluster installed. Convertible top works flawlessly and does not have any leaks. Passenger window regulator will need some work or replacement as the window does not roll down with the crank. Previous owner installed Thunderbird bucket seats and covered the interior with velvet. I am unsure the condition of underlying door panels. etc. Car has factory air conditioning. which is pretty rare for a convertible. It will need a condenser and to be hooked up. These big convertibles are getting harder to find. Great candidate to keep as-is for a lowrider/cruiser look. or to restore. Perfect car for driving up the coast.
