- This is a "no reserve" auction and this car will sell to the highest bidder
- Very rare and completely original 1964 Chrysler Imperial 2dr Crown Coupe (1964 production figures for the Imperial 2dr were just 5,233 as compared to 14,181 for the Imperial 4dr)
- Previous owner is an elderly man and a retired engineer --- he purchased this car in 1975 and stated that the odometer reading of 61,139 is actual
- This is a "garage find" vehicle, not a "barn find" car, and there is a big difference --- it has always been stored inside the attached garage at the previous owners residence since he purchased it in 1975 --- this is an important detail because the car has not been subjected to extreme cold weather and it's also been protected from direct sunlight and extreme heat
- It had not been started in 14 years --- I installed a brand new Walmart Ever Start battery last week, primed the carb and it fired right up --- engine runs very quiet and it was very quiet upon initial startup --- we let it sit and run for about 30 minutes and the temp gauge held steady at the low end of the normal range --- oil pressure gauge works and it reads on the high side of the gauge (probably 45-60 lbs pressure) at an idle at full operating temperature --- no smoke coming from the tailpipe and the exhaust system is very quiet
- This car is pictured just exactly as it was acquired --- it has not been cleaned up, detailed, washed or touched up in any way --- it is completely 100 percent original
- Body is very straight with a few minor imperfections and it has all of the original paint, in other words no accidents or previous repairs --- no rust on body --- trim and stainless very good, also anything that is chrome over pot metal is free from pitting which includes the grill & headlight bezels
- Interior very good for a 55 year old car --- door panels nice --- leather seats very nice, drivers lean back has one small place that could be easily repaired --- dash pad still soft and not faded --- headliner perfect --- steering wheel perfect with no cracks --- dash and instrument cluster very nice with excellent lettering
- Glass is all original Mopar and in perfect condition --- Has the original Mopar windshield which has the Pentastar and it is absolutely flawless and perfect in every respect with no sand pitting, chips or blemishes of any sort
- Mechanical --- brakes will need work as the pedal goes to the floor so we did not drive the car --- it will stop good enough to drive onto a transport truck or trailer --- the previous owner which is a very elderly man said the car ran & drove just fine the last time he drove it --- probably brake hoses and wheel cylinders will take care of the brakes or you might get lucky and they might just need to have the air bled from the lines --- also the starter drive is weak and it disengages prematurely so it will need to be replaced --- I am including a new rebuilt starter with the car for the new owner so all you'll have to do is install it --- I'm sure the car will probably need some more minor repairs &/or adjustments
- Power windows including both front power vent wing windows work --- power seat works --- radio and power antenna work
- You can spend an afternoon freshening this car up and have a really nice driver or it would be the perfect candidate for an easy and complete restoration --- original paint is in good condition with no thins spots anywhere and would look very nice with just a polish & wax
