Description of 1948 Chrysler Windsor 2 Door 3 Passenger Business Coupe |
West Coast Classics are proud to present this absolutely exceptional and stunning example of this completely rust and accident free & fully frame off restored by a renown marque expert 1948 Chrysler Windsor 2 Door 3 Passenger Business Coupe with it's reliable and virtually bullet-proof Chrysler in line Flathead 250 L Head six cylinder engine with a manual semi automatic 3 speed 'Fluid Drive' transmission! The Chrysler Windsor with the semi automatic Fluid Drive transmission delivered modern style performance in the form of a large and heavy 3 passenger coupe and this is a now very rare and desirable and collectible example of one of America's premier early post war cars. Chrysler's Windsor model was available as either a sedan, convertible, club coupe or business coupe configurations. Of the body-styles available the 3 passenger business coupe is widely considered by enthusiasts the most desirable, built with an eye towards style instead of practicality, the model featured just a single row of seating. The small passenger compartment allowed for one of the most attractive and distinguished roof-lines of any car of it's day and proved to be a significant influence in the coming decades era of larger and even more imposingly styled cars. This particular car has been beautifully restored and finished in it's original striking 'Meadow Green' factory color with a matching original 'Dark Green' broadcloth wool interior. Factory options included; 'Comfort Master Heater', 8 tube radio, directional signals, electric clock, windshield wipers, luggage compartment light, 'Safe Guard' hydraulic brakes, small hubcaps, etc. The car looks absolutely stunning and was professionally restored with no expense spared by it's owner, noted marque expert Jim Barbee, before being purchased by his friend Blake Nordstrom, for his renown private collection. The original spare wheel is in it's rightful storage place in the trunk. The 250 6 cylinder engine is extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives magnificently - must be driven to be fully appreciated - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles. The car will be sold with a file including it's original owners manuals and receipts from 1949! This is a rare opportunity to own an absolutely beautifully restored with superb attention to detail by a noted marque expert and a great daily driving example of an obviously never abused (and oozing pride of ownership since it's remarkable restoration) 1948 Chrysler Windsor 2 Door 3 Passenger Business Coupe in simply stunning & unrivaled condition throughout! We doubt that few finer examples could possibly exist. |
