Hello eBay and welcome to no 5 day no reserveauction!
- (QUEUE THE "Flight of the Bumblebee")
This somewhat menacing 1965 Imperial should look basically familiar to fans of the Green Hornet TV Show and Movie, as it was used as the basis for the famed Black Beauty car (the real star of both TV and movies) 1965 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe Absolutely a 60's cool car, this Imperial Crown Coupe drips with midcentury styling, and mimics a large 2 door limo. leather seats and big white wall tires add to the incognito persona one can take on when driving this long and luxurious Black beauty. Slipping in I felt much like a masked superhero that poses as a description writer by day and saves the world from evil doers by night. But I digress and started this beast up, went for a cruise and just enjoyed all the aspects of this large luxury car that has some guts when you push the accelerator.I noted some of the power windows are a little slow, but all worked. The brake pedal is soft and goes down, car stops but not well, due to front passenger side brake cylinder loses brake fluid. Inside the original engine bay is the original Hemi engine. It sports a nice dullness to it but it is hiding its 413ci Hemi equipped with 8-3/4-inch 2.93 rear axle. it's a great big iconic car with plenty of power it fells like i'm on a cloud floating through the sky. This vehicle was part of a 40-year collection and wasn't driven often in the last 7 years. Due to my 100% positive feedback on eBay I want to be as honest as possible on the description and capabilities of the vehicle.Engine starts right up without hesitation good strong drivetrain all gone through although I'll recommend a tune-up and service before any serious driving. As mentioned the brakes are very low due to the front brake cylinder is leaking brake fluid. The white wall tires look incredible with a good thread but, they definitely have soft spots in them highly recommend a new set due to age. Power windows are slow to roll up and down would recommend cleaning the contacts and some greasing on the tracks. Original California blackplate car never left the state of California. One owner with original small California title.Paint still shines but does have flaws such as cracks and blisters mainly on the hood and top portion of the vehicle. The sides, (the fenders doors and rear panels) are in nice shape with hardly any paint flaws. All the chrome trim, hupcaps and bumpers are original and in nice shape but is missing the hood ornament. very solid trunk and undercarriage with no signs of rust. The front bucket seats has been professionally reupholstered in the correct and original design. New carpet kit, door panels are in nice shape but show wear and age. Rear seat leather is dry and show cracks but no rips. I purchased a new headliner just needs to be installed. Overall, this is a very elegant and rare solidCalifornia car that needs some minor tender loving care. I'vewent to many car shows and auctions such as BarrettJackson and never seen another fine automobile like this. You will be proud as i am owning this car.
