Vehicle Details

Selling my 88 Chrysler conquest TSi SHP. 5 Speed, factory sunroof. 148k miles. Runs and drives great.

I bought the car about 2 years ago, not running. I swapped in a low mileage engine (had 47k miles on it at the time I installed, and I have driven it 2,000 miles since I got it on the road. The engine runs great, and does not smoke. Pulls hard through the RPM range. The turbo has been upgraded to a S16G, running stock boost. It has a blow off valve, and 2.5 inch straight through exhaust. When I replaced the engine I also replaced the clutch. The transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch is strong.

The car has recent struts, brake lines, rear calipers rebuilt, and a rebuilt power steering gearbox. Drives great, tight steering with minimal play.

The front seats have been reupholstered in vinyl, and the rest of the interior is in great shape other than a tear in one of the rear seat backs.

The car needs paint and body work to be perfect. There is rust on the rear 1/4 panels (see pictures), and the drivers front fender has been repaired and repainted in the past but the paint is not great there. There are dings and dents you’d expect on an unrestored car of this age. Underneath has no major rust issues, see the photos for reference, but definitely shows to have been a northern car at some point.

Other quirks are the radio usually takes a minute or two to cut on, and at least one or two of the speakers are blown and could user replaced. The power antenna mast is broken. There is no rear wiper or spare tire. The drivers side auto seatbelt quit working a few weeks ago. Unsure of the issue, it worked great until it didn’t. I suspect a bad motor or limit switch on the track but have not investigated. It doesn’t leak any fluid horribly but it does drip some oil and power steering fluid. The right front strut or strut mount gives a nice thud when hitting a bump or pothole. Drives very well, but I want to be transparent about all the good and bad.

This is a very solid car mechanically, I would trust it to drive any distance, at least as much as you would trust a car of this age. I usually drive it to work at least once a week. If you have any questions or would like to see any more pictures or a video please contact me and I’d be happy to provide it. The car is located in Doswell VA and I’d be happy to show the car to any local interested parties as well.
