Description of 1964 Chrysler Imperial

1964 Chrysler Imperial Crown Survivor!!This is a documented 96XXX mile car with only one owner as far as I can tell. The original owner's names are on the dealer plaque when delivered on the dash. The original owner passed away in 1999 and the car was stored for a time and finally sold by a Grandson as I've been told. I have a clean title in my name and the car is registered and drives well. This is a really cool time capsule with receipts and paperwork going back to the day it was sold! It looks like it was sold new in Oregon and then the original owners moved to Arizona in 1970. It has been in my town here since 1970! There a tons of receipts showing the mileage over the years until they de insured it for storage right before passing. The car was well maintained and loved by its original owners. In the glove box is the original owner's manual(velvet!) and warranty book(filled out by the dealer for services!). There are also old maps from back in the day and other insurance cards etc. Very cool find! I was going to make it a hot rod like the one in the movie "Green Hornet" but after learning so much about this car's history I just couldn't modify it. It is a true collectible appreciating classic that deserves to be kept original. The original spare gumwall tire and jack look to be never used! The original flares are still there and a set of tire chains. The body of the car is super straight and solid no rust. I actually haven't seen any leaks on my driveway either! I see a slight seepage from the power steeringreservoirbut nothing on the ground. The car starts right up and runs and drives. It could use a tune up of course. The engine is really dry no oil smells or smoke. Runs so quiet you wonder if its still on! It's really fun to drive and everyone wants to check it out! It shifts well and rides pretty decent. The brakes work well but pulls to the right. The gauges all work and I've driven it here in AZ in 100+ degree weather and it never gets hot. All the lights blinkers gauges tilt wheel climate controls all seem to work right. The clock doesn't work though. This is the last year of the push button automatic too! This 413 cu V8 is rated at 340 horsepower! With a good tune up I bet it could really fly. This car is solid and the build quality back then was comparable to its intended competitors or better! This was aimed at the Lincoln Continental and Cadillac of the day. With prices on Lincolns going through the roof this car is just as cool and a much lower price of admission! You don't see these at every car show!!! Also this is the car they used in the Green Hornet movie! Paint it black and put some rims on it and there you go. Also they destroyed 28 of these cars during filming so they are getting very rare! How often do you find a straight rust free original car with paperwork like this?Like I mentioned in the condition report above the power windows are very very slow from lack of use and need help going up and down. The motors can be rebuilt pretty easily or maybe they just need to be cleaned and greased. The car has so many power options and amazingly most of them still work! It has rear air power triangle vent windows power antenna floor vents power seats(not working) tilt wheel remote mirror control power locks AC. Also a new battery! Tires are also new but 1.5 years old. Also as mentioned above the speedometer cable makes noise when driving and should be removed and greased again. Please refer to condition report above for all the little things it needs and all the detailed photos for condition.Any questions please feel free to contact me!Thanks for looking and good luck!
