Description of 1963 Pontiac Catalina

This is pretty cool. A 1963 Pontiac Catalina 2dr hardtop Arizona barn find with 61,000 actual miles on the clock. Coming from the original owners, he car is 100% unmodified and nearly 100% complete. The only parts missing are both ¼ moldings and the original hubcaps. The trunk lock cylinder is gone and the windshield is cracked, hat's it, he car has it’s original paint as is almost rust free except for some cancer in the bottom of the right ¼ and the trunk has some perforations but can be repaired without a new pan. The sheet metal is all straight except the right fender and right ¼ need some attention. The fenders, oors, loors are solid and there is no undercoating on the pristine floors either. All the doors close nice.

Interior is the optional Ventura tri-tone dark red with original am radio. All of the interior soft material is shot... All the windows roll down nicely. The motor is the original 389 2bbl with a 2 speed auto trans. Motor idles rough after just being started after many years which is to be expected having ancient wires, lugs, oints, arb etc. The gas turned to varnish so it’s running off a can under the hood. The gas tank will need to be boiled out but it is solid. The trans shifts in and out of gear nicely but the car cannot be driven on the road since the brakes are gone from sitting. There was not fluid in the master so figure a blown wheel cylinder somewhere. The power steering works fine. The car can be made roadworthy with these repairs.

All the gearheads will know that this was the year and body style that was used in NHRA drag racing back in the 60’s and was also used to build the handful of “Swiss Cheese” A/FX lightweight cars that today are worth a cool HALF MILLION DOLLARS.. Check out Barrett_Jackson Scottsdale in January. They have one up for auction. These were also factory street race cars in Super Duty trim. With multiple carburation and 4 speed trannys,Super Duty cars ruled the track and the streets. Here is your chance to build one of those dream cars starting with a solid foundation and a reasonable initial investment. These projects are super rare so don't miss out.

PLEASE NOTE’ The wheels pictured on the car are not included with the purchase. The car will be delivered with rollers only. Steel wheels and tires that hold air.

The car is sold AS IS no warranty and buyer pays for shipping. No cashier's checks Deposit is non refundable.

guys wanted to know what the trunk floor is like. I pulled the mat and there was a lot of scale. Cleaned it all out and found some perforations and weak spots. It is savable though. I added a couple pictures. Also the right hood hinge is sprung but it didn't affect the hood.
