1978 Citroen 2CV Acadiane Panel Van with only 44,785 documented kilometers or 27,990 miles. Numerous Citroen 2CV varaiants were produced for 42-years. The 1948 Citroen Traction Avante was the 1st mass-produced steel monocoque front-wheel drive car in the world!!! Although Citroen was manufactured in Levallois-Perret France, the panel wagon & pickup variants were manufactured in Montivideo Uruguay. From 1948-1990, more than 3.8 million C2V's were produced, along with over 1.2 million small 2CV-based delivery vans known as Fourgonnettes. Citroen ultimately offered several mechanically identical variants including the Ami (1.8 million), the Dyane (over 1.4 million), the "ACADIANE" (250,000), and the Mehari (140,000). In total, Citroen manufactured almost 9 million 2CV's variants. This panel van being an Acadiane, is the 3rd rarest of all the 2CV variants, the Sahara 4X4 being the rarest, and the Mehari being the 2nd rarest of them all. This 2CV was bought from the original owner in France and was brought into the U.S.A. in January 2009, by a French car collector in Jupiter Florida. He then sold it to the 2nd owner in Fernandina Beach Florida in 2014, on the beautiful Amelia Island, home of the Concours d'Elegance Collector Car Show. I am the 3rd owner and just had the engine tuned-up and a new replacement Solex carburetor and battery done right after purchasing it, cost $685. The engine (435cc/25hp) and transaxle are in perfect running condition and doesn't drip a drop of oil. I bought this very-rare very-collectable vehicle a few months ago here in Fernandina Beach, hoping to store it at my friends shop (an old Oldsmobile dealership), which I already have several toys stored there, but there is no more space available to me at this time, so it's got to go. Free & clear Florida title in my name. I am a private-seller, not a used car dealer. I know very little about this specific Citroen, as the only Citroen I have ever owned in the past was a 1975 Citroen SM, with a 3.0 L V-6 Maserati engine. This 2CV runs and drives just fine, but don't expect to win any races in it, as the joke among them is, 0-60km in a day!!! Like I said earlier, the engine and transaxle doesn't drip a drop of oil, which is quite rare for a 40-yr old vehicle. The engine fires up 1st time, every time, runs & drives fine, brakes good, steering good, the 4-speed manual transmission shifts fine, the clutch is good, and will run about 45mph. The tires will need replacement, they have plenty of even tread remaining, but they are almost 10-years old. This 2CV is all original and has "NEVER" been in an accident, had aftermarket equipment installed, or has been chopped-up and modified in any way. It also has the original drivetrain. The prior owners son worked in a body shop and repainted (1st repaint) the truck for his father, but it doesn't have a professional show quality to win a trophy finish. The trucks frame is very solid, but it does have some rust here & there. The rear body is almost flawless, but both left & right side panels that cover the spare-tire and the gas tank are rusted out and will need replacement. The hood does have 1 small rust area, both fenders are rust free (1 L/S headlight bucket is rusted out), the bottoms of the doors are rust free, the firewall does have 1 small rusted area, there are 3 or 4 very-small rust spots around the windshield, the interior is in very good condition, all the glass is original and in great condition, but there are a few scratches, the door handle is broken off on the passenger door. As you can see, it has the original optional roof rack in great condition, an optional rear cargo divider, a trailer hitch, an extra rear cargo door and glass, and the spare tire and rim pictured. I will even throw in the early 70's inoperable Pepsi machine from the same era in the pictures for "FREE". I have sold numerous personal cars, trucks, suv's, boats, and motorcycles here in the past 12-years I've been on eBay and received excellent feedback for my accurate description of each & every one. Although, my knowledge of this vehicle is limited. This is a serious auction and I am not looking for anyone playing games here. If you want to bid on this very-rare piece of history and your new to eBay or have less-than 10-transactions with 100% feedback rating, you must contact me with a "VERIFIABLE" home phone number and name, otherwise I will "CANCEL" your bid and "BLOCK" you from any future bidding. Also, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit by Pay-Pal is due within 24-hours of the auctions ending. The balance will be paid in "CASH" in person or by bank wire-transfer within 72-hours of the auctions ending.
