Description of 1970 Citroën DS |
1970 Citroen DS-21: THIS IS A PROJECT/PARTS CAR ************************************************************************************* Details follow below BUT an IMPORTANT NOTE ! ! ************************************************************************************** i do not have the means of shipping the car. The buyer is responsible for arranging shipping/pickup of the car. The car is located in Sonora, California. ************************************************************************************** - 1970 US spec DS-21, manual transmission, clear-titled, but notrunning - when I parked it, the motor was running reliably, but starting tosmoke a bit - I purchased this car in Massachusetts, and drove it cross-country. - It was then my daily driver from 1988-2000 - When I bought it some rust repairs had been made, and I had notrouble with it in that regard - when I parked it, it was in reasonably good shape, but the Sonora,CA climate has done a lot of damage to the non-metal parts of the body. - I honestly don't know its current condition with regards to rust, but I note that the trunk lid has some serious rust, the man who sold it to me did body work, and itwas "OK" when I bought it, so I assume that what we see now is "quickie" repairscoming to light - when it was a daily-driver in the 1990's, I did tune-ups, had thevalves adjusted, replaced the clutch, and the brakes, water pump, hydraulic suspension spheres, and themain accumulator sphere. Oil changes were done every 3-5,000 miles. - judging by the license plate, I last drove it in about the year 2000. I am now a retired senior citizen, and I need to simplify my life (I have NOidea where all the time went ! ! ) - I have a separate eBay listings for my collectionof spare parts, factory parts & repair books, and independentlypublished repair books - at this point it is, unfortunately, not a functional car, but arestoration project, or a source for parts. |
