Description of 1980 Citroen Other- show original title

This 1980 CX Prestige is one of the fastest CXs we have ever driven. and has performed well on our brief local road tests. The brakes. transmission. steering. and suspension are all working well. The hydraulics are in excellent condition with a long pump cycle time. The power windows - front and rear - are in good working order. The muffler and most of the exhaust system have been replaced. This CX has the Diravi self-centering power steering and it works great. The odometer is in kilometers. and shows the equivalent of about 34. 00 miles. As the photos show. the car is in fairly good condition. The interior is mostly very good. The dashboard is free of cracks or fading. but the surface of the steering wheel has sun damage. The head liner has been replaced and looks almost new. The leather upholstery is still supple and retains its beautiful butterscotch color apart from a little wear in the usual spots on the driver's seat. The leather of the door panels is also in good condition but the front door panels have warped and are bending inwards. The body is mostly very presentable. with some rust starting along the bottom edges and a couple of other places; the photos show the worst of these. In a few spots the trim strips have come detached or have flaking finish. The undercarriage is unusually rust-free other than one spot on the right side. shown in the photos. The previous owner brought the car to us for maintenance in September of 2012. At that time we fixed some hydraulic leaks. changed the oil and filter. installed new air and fuel filters. cleaned the air flow meter. adjusted the valves. and replaced the belts. We also put in a new ignition wires. spark plugs. and distributor rotor. and cleaned the distributor cap. We set the timing and the idle CO mixture and checked the vacuum advance. A compression test showed excellent results with 155. 150. 157. and 154 PSI. The car has been driven only about 2000 kilometers since that service.
