Description of 1937 Cord Westchester COFFIN NOSE Baby Duesenberg MAGNIFICENT CAR! Pontoon Fenders! |
Hello Cord collectors & collectors of Rare cars. (Auburn. Cord. Duesenberg)Here is a car from my collection that I had not planned to sell. but instead of just sitting in my garage I've decided to sell all 4 of my classic cars. (1929 Hupmobile Phaeton Conv. -the only 1 existing example. it belonged to Humphrey Bogart's family!. 1947 Lincoln Continental Convertible used in the movie "The Godfather". & a nice 1941 Chrysler Convertible!) I have had this beautiful 1937 Cord Westchester AKA "Baby Duesenberg" for a few years and have driven it locally (last driven about 2 weeks ago)The 1936 & 1937 Cord is a magnificent design from EVERY ANGLE! It is a rust free. extremely solid car with only 41. 18 miles. It was converted many many years ago to a most reliable and very powerful early (circa 1938-1948) Cadillac flathead V8 drive train with rear wheel drive. The "Supercharged" chrome exhaust side-pipes are fully functional. original. nbsp;and were only available in 1937! It runs well. starts easily. shifts well and can be driven now. As far as I can remember it is all converted to 12v. The hide-away headlight are still cable driven with those little chrome handles on the dash (I only drove in the day. so I never got around to connecting the cables to the headlight doors (everything is here!) Most of the chrome was rechromed including handles. bumpers. side pipes. hood/engine side gates/grills. etc. It is basically complete except for the front door armrests. am radio unit. easy to find some replacement & radio head with knobs ARE on the dash and VERY NICE!) Spare rim in trunk along with 2 boxes of parts. Owners manual. period shop manual. and ACD club literature. etc. Interior is just OK for a driver (headliner. door panels are original and have some moth holes in wool and other flaws. seats appear to have been redone about 40 years ago. All the glass is good but a couple of the windows are hard to move up & down. The front windshield cranks open for more ventilation. I planned to redo the interior. but used it like this. The wide whitewall tires are like new and the hubcaps have also been rechromed. The paint is suitable for a driver and looks beautiful but has tiny flaws on inside of pontoons and a few other little spots. but overall makes a fine impression. I will have it fully polished and waxed again right before pickup (I have someone come to do the detailing)Well that is all I can think of for now. Please feel free to email with any questions. As with any old car I am selling it AS-IS WHERE-IS and encourage you to come see it in person if possible. Please be a serious buyer with all funds ready BEFORE bidding! A $500 Paypal non-refundable deposit is due within 24hours of auctions end. with balance to paid in full within 7 days. I have 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK from 15+ YEARS on EBAY!This was my car for a few years and ofcourse I still love it. how could you not love a car like this one? I did not plan to sell it. but I rarely take it out of the garage. so I sadly decided to let it go. This is a completely solid car with NO rust anywhere and low mileage! Superb Airplane style. engine turned dashboard in great condition with restored gauges! The "Coffin Nose" or "Baby Duesenberg" is one of the most beautifully designed cars of all time! A true "Classic car"!I set a "Buy it Now" option in case you decide to not risk losing it from last minute bids. THANK YOU! |
