Description of 1900 Daihatsu Other |
PLEASE NOTE: Had to put 1900 for year to avoid non-US VIN issues. This is a 1994 vehicle. I purchased my 1994 Daihatsu Hijet Atrai 2WD van on 10/5/21 from Japan Direct Motors located in South Carolina. It had 66,409 miles (106,876 km) and now has 74,866 miles (120,752 km). I needed a RHD vehicle for my postal job as the part time route (once weekly) I was assigned did not have a government vehicle attached. Two (2) months after purchasing my van I was re-assigned to a route which had a government vehicle attached. I kept my van and used it for package delivery over the Holiday season. Occasionally I would go to other postal stations in the area and run partial or complete routes but that only occurred once or twice a month. I was going to sell my van in February once the Holiday rush was over, but then came the Amazon drivers’ strike and the van was needed to deliver packages for ‘overburdened’ routes. I have since left the USPS and no longer have a need for my van. The engine is a 659cc 3-cylinder fuel injected SOHC which was introduced in 08/92. The engine is mated to a three speed automatic transmission. The van has air conditioning which functioned properly when purchased. I removed the single belt which drove the a/c compressor to safe fuel and power. For those who are familiar with Daihatsu Hijet vans, mine is the eighth (8th) generation van with chassis code ‘S120V.’ Below are major modifications I have completed since purchase:1. 2” Lift Kit2. Napa Shocks 94008 (rear)3. Hyperco 18SN-300 Springs (rear)4. KYB Front Struts5. Konig Minilite 15x7 aluminum wheels6. Bridgestone 185 / 60R15 Advantage All Season Radials7. Custom fender flairs8. Diamond plate postal / delivery tray9. Leather driver’s seat (from VW Jetta) I have all original parts (wheels and tires, two (2) front seats, rear bench seat, floor mat set). The original seats are in excellent condition with the driver’s seat having a small tear. The mounting of the postal / delivery tray and Jetta seat used existing factory bolt holes (except for two (2)) so placing the original seats back into place will be easy. All original parts are included in the sale. I have complete maintenance records since my purchase. Currently my van has the single driver’s seat and postal / delivery tray installed. It can be used immediately as a postal delivery vehicle or as a general delivery vehicle. As a delivery vehicle, the van’s interior is larger than one would expect. With the ‘turtle top’ the van has amazing head room. It’s five (5) doors allow unlimited access to every part of the interior. The cab-over-engine (COE) design allows excellent handling and turning capabilities. Both front seating areas lift for easy access to the engine compartment. My van gets attention where ever it goes: at stop lights people take pictures, in parking lots people ask questions, while driving the ‘thumbs up’ approval is a regular gesture. For a company looking for a promotional / delivery vehicle, this Daihatsu Atrai van is the perfect solution. It gets great gas mileage, is easy to drive, has a low cost of maintenance and gets attention whenever it is seen. My van is licensed and registered as a Texas vehicle and I have a clear Texas title in hand. Location of van is Dallas, Texas area. My price is $10,000.00 which includes all original parts and an English translated repair manual. Serious buyers only please. |
