1976 Datsun 280Z 4 Speed No Reserve

Please read the entire listing before bidding. This car needs full restoration. Up for auction is a 1976 Datsun 280Z with a 4 speed manual transmission, cylinder engine with clear title. (Model GHL S30 STD 2+2 CPE 2 DR, olor 305 Light Blue, ngine # L28-083514, in: GHLS30-038189). The car comes with Flow-Through Ventilation, eater/Defroster with Variable Speed Fan, ariable Speed Windshield Wipers, lectric Windshield Washer, ourtesy Light, added SunVisors and Dash, love Box, ir Conditioning, lectronic Fuel Injection, ower Assist Disk Brakes, wheel Independent Suspension, eclining Vinyl Seats, lectric Rear Window Defroster, ack & Pinion Steering, ull Instrumentation/Tachometer, rip odometer & Clock, ow Fuel Warning Light & Fold Down Rear Seat. The car starts and runs good. I take the car out for a mile or two every week around town. People come up to me and say that it is really a cool car. The car passed all Pennsylvania inspections, as registered and driven in PA before moving to Florida, here it is currently registered and plated. The car has the original, indow sticker when it was purchased new from a dealership in Ohio in the 1970's. It is placed in plastic as shown in one of the photos below. The Datsun has air conditioning but doesn't blow cold. The car has 4 new tires (Cooper 195/70 r14), ew hydraulic master clutch cylinder & clutch slave cylinder (bleed system was performed), ew passenger floor pan, ew ignition coil, tarter, otor, lugs and wires, il sender, emperature sender, hermostat, adiator and hoses. Oil has been changed recently. All vacuum hoses are connected. The small maintenance light located under the hood works. The interior fan works. The manual crank windows work and the glass goes up and down fine. The doors close though the drivers door creaks when opening and closing. All the interior gauges light up and work. The directional lights, eadlights, aillights, ipers work except the clock. A spare tire is located in the trunk, ut it is not original. The antenna has been broken off and has not been replaced. There is no stereo nor speakers. The vinyl on the seats are torn. There is surface rust on the bumpers. The undercarriage shows surface rust. The exhaust does not have any holes but shows it wear and needs to replaced. There is some rattling from the exhaust when upon startup but quiets down after a few minutes. Some brake work has been performed on the disks up front. When I purchased the car, he passenger floor pan was rusted so I had the floor pan professional replaced. (Probably due to the missing corner trim or water getting in through a window seal.) The car has been repainted at some point. Due to the 5 digit odometer, he mileage is unknown. Currently it states 08617. (Obviously not the original miles.) The car does not have an interior carpet nor a carpet for the trunk. The Datsun needs a new center console. The heater does not seem to work. The corner trim is missing from windshield causing very small amounts of water to leak into the passenger floor. However, his could be also caused from a window seal or door gasket. Just have not had the time to investigate, ut the car is currently garaged on a regular basis. (Water does not pour into the car. It just makes a rag wet. (Water leakage could be from the heater box also, ut I am not sure.) Starting up the Datsun, t does blow a small amount of blue smoke for a second. However, t does not burn any oil while driving the car. I do not know of any engine work being done to car before owning it. What I know about the body work is, he previous owner had done some work on the rear fenders and had the car repainted (poorly done and not the correct color code. Under the hood is the original color). Rust is starting to show up especially on the drivers side fender near the hood, ubbles on the rear fender and some rust starting under some trim pieces. The seats have to be redone because of cracks as well as the dashboard. A brake light comes on, ocated on the dashboard, ut I have not time to investigate if it is the emergency brake switch or another issue. However, he brakes work and there does not seem to be any brake fluid leaking as far as I can see. The mirrors and bumpers show surface rust. The front and rear bumpers are missing the corner bumper pieces that wrap around the front and rear of the car. The current hubcaps are not stock. Both doors close fine, ut the door locks need to be replaced and the outside passenger door handle needs to be adjusted or replaced. It currently does not open the door. However, he inside handle works fine, hich opens the door. The exterior coating on the gas tank seems to be coming off as well as some of the coating on the inside of the wheel wells. The glove box is in a box along with extra parts: auto shop manuals, ew starter, old start valve, uel filter, new belts, ardware to bolt down spare tire, eat covers and some center console parts. This car needs complete restoration. This car was bought and sold up north and is not a southern car. The winning bidder is responsible for pickup and shipping of the vehicle.
