Description of 1976 Datsun Z-Series s30 |
1976 Datsun 280z Chassis: I've had this car for 5 years. Started project by taking down to bare metal, cutting out rust which was minor to begin with, then full paint, engine bay, jams, etc. All windows were removed for paint and all new seals were installed. New windshield was also bought and installed. Paint cost me $5000 after I personally spent hundreds of hours on body work to make sure there were no dents. I wanted it to be as straight as possible.. Paint is 113 green metallic and is only 1 year old. I consider it to be an 8.5 out of 10 because I'm very picky. Most people do not notice the things that I do and tell me how amazing it looks. It shines beautifully and gets a lot of attention. no rust anywhere.... Then I went through and did all new polyurethane bushings, tie rods, ball joints, undercoating, powdercoat many suspension pieces. Has been converted to 240z bumpers, grill, turn signals, and rear tail lights. Several things have been powdercoated black including: emblems, handles, locks, hood hinges, grill, tail light bezels, inside door handle bezels, ashtray. Interior: New carpet, new old stock center console (no cuts or cracks) new oem shift boot door panels are in good shape with very little cracking, same with plastic panels. new dome light, but its not wired up as it started blowing fuses. seats are 240z seats and have a wear mark on the driver bolster and a rip in the back of the driver seat. Not in amazing shape but still in very usable condition. All autometer pro comp ultra lite silver face gauges including :: tach, speedo, oil pressure, fuel level, water temp, and boost/vac. Engine: rb26dett (53k miles) New timing belt, n1 oil pump, n1 water pump, new gasket set. Stock oil pan was modified to rear sump to fit z. Oil pan still still has factory baffles. hks twin pod filters, greddy oil filter sandwich plate Engine is solid with no leaks, no smoke. Pulls hard all the way to redline. Still on factory boost of 8 pounds. Exhaust: stock twin downpipe ran into single 3 inch pipe all the way back to a magnaflow oval muffler with angle cut tip.. Looks and sounds amazing. very low hum, not overly loud and no rasp.. Fuel system: Stock 240z tank with a welded in sump. -6 feed and return lines Walbro 255lph fuel pump Transmission: rb25det rear wheel drive transmission. no grinds or pop outs, filled with redline light shockproof oil. Clutch: Nismo pressure plate with Kevlar full-face clutch disc, new throw out bearing, resurfaced stock flywheel Rear end: 88 300zx SS viscous limited slip (88k miles) cv axle conversion with modern motor sports flanges Brakes: bigger 2+2 brake booster, toyota 4x4 pickup front calipers, Maxima rear disc conversion, all stainless steel lines Wheels: Drag dr20 with like new kumho eccsta 225/50/16. honda lug pattern with spacers Suspension: Tokiko blues with eibach lowering springs (1 inch drop), with bump steer spacers up front Full energy suspension bushing kit bads... fuel gauge works but only reads a little over 1/4 tank when full. actually hasn't really been a problem for me though because when you do get below 1/4 tank it will show and work from there till empty. The dome light and map light are not wired because they will blow a fuse The exhaust hangs close to the ground so watch out for speed bumps Driver and passenger windows do roll up and down but are not smooth The car will be sold as is. All sales are final; no warranty is written or implied. Upon sale a $500.00 non-refundable deposit must be made within 48 hours. I will be happy to ship the car, domestic or international at the buyer’s expense. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thank you for looking. |
