Description of 1972 Datsun Z-Series |
*****************. *********************** This beautiful 1972 Datsun 240Z was purchased by an Air Force Serviceman at Ryukyu Nissan Motor Co. while stationed in Okinawa Japan in 1972. The car was transported to California where it remained in the custody of the original owner until 2015. I purchased the car from the original owner'sbrother who was selling it after his passing. The vehicle had been sitting in the owners garage since 1985 after a large cam was installed anddrivability became an issue. I have had many 240Z's and currently have 3 of them, I know these cars very well. This car needed several items addressed to bring it back to life. Stock camshaft installedFuel tank installedFuel filter and fuel lines cleaned and replacedCarbs cleaned and adjustedRadiator flushed, new hoses installed, new thermostat, antifreezeNew battery installedOil change and tune up completed including plugs and wiresNew tires installedNew front windshield and gasket installed to replace cracked originalNew black carpet kit installed Original owners manual includedOriginal Warranty Booklet includedOriginal California blue plates includedNew custom floor mats purchased by the original owner installedBrakes were cleaned, check and repaired where necessary This car runs and drives beautifully, no engine smoke or unusual noises. Everything on this car works, all lighting and radio including antenna works. Even the clock works after i disassembled and cleaned it. The doors shut beautifully as does the hatch and hood. The underside of the car looks very nice and free from rust and damage. The original owner had removed exterior emblems and primed over the remaining holes. I re-painted the areas that had been primed and replaced the emblems. Although the paint looks very nice in the pictures, the car should be re-painted at some point in the future. The paint is nice enough to drive around town and take to the local cars and coffee, but there is a slight difference in shades of blues on the car currently. The car is currently near the original 115 blue. Dealer installed "ARA" air conditioning present but not functioning. This is one of the most original condition 240Z's that I have owned and I am pleased to offer it up for sale. Check my feedback on many other 240z's that I have sold on E-bay and bid with confidence. I will ship overseas and work with overseas buyers. I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thank you for looking and feel free to ask questions.
