Description of 1970 Datsun Other |
This rare little car is a collector's dream with great potential. The package is there, it just need a refresh. This is a 1970 Datsun 1600 (SPL311) with a Nissan KA25DE and 5 Speed swap from a 1991 240SX .... doubles the stock horse power and seriously improves the reliability. I'll describe everything about the car I know. I want to be as honest as possible. The good; - KA24DE 2.4 liter Nissan with 5 speed (doubles the HP on the 1600?) came from a 1991 240SX - I believe this swap only has about 4200 miles on it. That's what the current gauges read and I'm let to believe that is how many miles this current set up has on it. - It has the 2000 badges and It comes with a 2000 grill (to be installed) - New timing chain, ensioner and guides kit (2000 miles ago). Timing and tune is set to 180 degree operating temp. - Brand New soft top - New painless wiring harness. - Dash is a custom aluminum 67 style with Custom white Phantom gauges with a leather dash and surround (one piece) - BRAND NEW Recaro seats - Remote Oil Filter Set up. - Nismo Vintage Sport spec springs (850lb lowers 1.5") - KYB shocks - Rear springs dearched to lower 1" - H4 headlights - New amber fog lights - New tail lights - Volvo big brake 4 pot caliper upgrade - Stainless Steel Brake Lines - Roll Bar installed - Rebuild and cleaned gas tank - Bluetooth radio with USB jack, needs speakers - Battery in the trunk - Vintage Performance Australian made wheels (Australian Watanabe or Mini Lite) with nearly new tires. The bad; - Paint is a 10 Footer - There's some chips here and there along with some superficial dents - No heat. The heater box and blower have been removed. The cowl vent works and has a driver and passenger down vents with the open close flap functional and in place. - Though the brakes have been upgraded the brake master is the tiny original and you need a strong leg to use the unboosted manual pedal. This is typical of all Roadsters. If you stomp on it yes, the car will skid to a stop. - Wanders a bit at freeway speeds, probably needs some suspension work |
