Description of 1983 Datsun Z-Series Fairlady

1983 Datsun
280zx
2 seater
AZ CAR
super low reserve

This car was at one time a daily driver like most
until the last owner parked it because he lost his
license, and it sat next to his house for the last
10 or so yrs in the Az environment.
SEE PICS BELOW

We suggest viewing our auction on normal large monitors
and or tablet to get the most out of our detailed pix.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: great body - baked interior
Az has done some toll on the inside...but
You are bidding on a very rust / rot free Az car.
With very little work, we got it up and running. We
opted to run it off a alternative fuel source because
the gas tank imho is so bad, so we bypassed it.
Ive been running about a gallon at a time with some
good injector cleaner mixed in and a little Marvel
to try and clean out whats left in the fuel lines etc
and with each gallon it is running better. I cant
say its running 100% but well enough to drive it around
your neighborhood and up on a car hauler. Ive even
let it sit idling for about 20 min here where its still
almost 100 today, and the digital temp gauge went to
about half and stayed there. Ive run it over to the
gas station and put about 5 miles on it in the last week
with no issues. It runs okay, but not 100% normal. Im
sure it could use a tune-up,
and maybe get the injectors correctly flushed
to get it to run better.
The brakes
and clutch work well.

GOOD BODY - rough interior - Az heat has been hard
on the rubber and plastics of course and its crumbling
in most areas to the touch lol.
The car was painted Green (over the factory brown)
yrs ago, which has faded to almost like a matt finish.
Also a Turbo hood was added yrs ago.

DONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND, apparently some people
who use ebay arent smart enough to understand the rules.
So if you have under 10 feedbacks, Ill be emailing you if you bid to
make sure you are legit, if we do please reply or we will cancel your bid.
Up for Auction: LOW FAIR RESERVE !!!
These cars are getting harder to find esp in this condition
that are still affordable to most buyers.
WANNA BUY IT NOW ? SURE, shoot me a fair offer

DRIVETRAIN: the factory 6cyl set up is pretty clean
and original looking under the hood. 5 speed trans feels
good, Ive had it thru all the gears driving it around the
my area for a few miles off and on. Its not 100% but starts
all the time with the key, no smoke or weird noises.
Factory AC car too. BFG tires have lots of tread, but prob
about 10 yrs old. Id use them for around town at least.
4 wheel disc and factory 14" alloy rims.

INTERIOR:again, Az has been really hard on this part
of the car. Power windows work and parts of the digital dash
still work too. AC blows, but not cold. It will need alot of restoring
here depending on what your plans are for the car. At least
most all the parts you need for the project are readily available
online. T TOPS seem to have a bronze tint in the glass which is
pretty cool. Not sure if any of the 3 pod gauges are working.

EXTERIOR:the body again, is VERY straight for its age.
What I wouldcall minor rust and bubbling around the front
windshield frame is not as noticeable as the last Z we just
sold. NO RUST around the T top frames. Its all fixable, but Im
sure much worse on a car that have lived their lives back east.
Az is very dry and this car has lived here most of its life.
Body lines look greatall around, all the glass is in good shape.
It will need some restoring here too of course.
Only visible dent on the LR near
the taillight. No evidence of previous body work from its past.

SUSPENSION:the suspension looks normal and very original
for its age. Its not restored, but probably be okay with a little
resto on the bushings etc. 4 wheel factory Disc all around is
all there and accounted for. I see normal wear n tear at best
and OEM components where they belong too.
I See zero signs of any rust or rot. The underbody or pan of the
car looks a little rough in spots from maybe scuffing curbs ?

Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load ifyou have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more infoAFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

There you have it, probably The BEST represented Z cars

Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you them
We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars.
People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale
and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats
paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks.
Having as much as the original steel on a restored car
speaks volumes.
Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what
surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating.
People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are
fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.

Email us with ANY questions before you bid please

Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. We show you as
much feasibly possible via pics.
Dont let auctions withlittle to no pics try to fool you.
If they cant take the time to take pics of areas under the car they are selling, maybe its not the best car to buy long distance.
With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect
until you get it, which could be too late.
Meanwhile we go ALL over our cars and supply large
great pics to help making your decision easier.
Not to mention, our feedback is impeccable for over
15 yrs.
