This is the car that started the Z car dynasty. It is a lightweight sportscar with a fully independent suspension and a torquey 6-cylinder engine that loves to run. It has been restored and repainted with piles of new OEM parts that really set this car apart from the crowd. And, it is a fun, fun, fun car to drive! Check it out. Starting with a super solid car with all original sheet metal, this car was... stripped down and recoated in Safari Gold topped with clearcoat. It is a classic design that has stood the test of time and still attracts attention anywhere it goes. 1001 little details and new parts add up to a huge difference with this car. Starting up front, a fresh European style bumper shines brightly as it leads the way. That long hood with a Datsun badge flows back to a fresh windshield installed with a new seal. All the stainless around the windows looks great polished up real nicely and new mirrors and trim pieces everywhere are little things that make a big difference. Datsun in script appears on the front fender and there is a 240Z badge high on the rear fenders. The hatchback design makes this a very easy sportscar to use as a daily driver, and another European style bumper adds to the super clean look of the rear of the car. Open the door and you will find a super clean Black interior. The door panel itself looks like a lightweight racecar piece in its simplicity. Slide on into those high-backed buckets which have comfortable pleated seating surfaces and substantial bolsters to support you for spirited driving. Grab hold of the steering wheel that has been nicely restored and reach for the new shift knob for the 4-speed manual transmission which falls easily to hand and is just begging to be stirred around. New pedals for the gas and clutch making that activity extra enjoyable. The dash board is stock with the speedo and tach directly in front of the driver and the engine gauges clearly visible mounted at the top of the dash in the center. Below them are the controls for the ventilation system that includes air conditioning for those hot summer days. The tunnel and trim in the interior is the great looking, original, diamond patterned vinyl and the headliner as well as the carpeting are in excellent condition too. The engine and drivetrain on this car were the focus of a thorough rebuild by a Datsun specialist and involves an extensive list of parts that you should ask your salesman about. Pop the hood and you will find that 2.4-liter in-line 6-cylinder motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. It was completely rebuilt to standard specifications, not over bored, with fresh pistons, rings and bearings installed before the reconditioned cylinder head was installed with a new timing chain and guides. The Hitachi carbs were rebuilt and a set of headers help the engine breath free and sound sweet. Power is sent back through a new clutch assembly to the independent rear suspension. The rest of the chassis received its share of love too with a new master cylinder along with complete brake job front and rear and a brake fluid flush. A set of polyurethane sway bar bushings tighten up the front suspension and polished Shelby Viper rims complete the picture. Come on down and see what this lightweight little sportscar that started the Z-car legend is all about.
