There are NO import/export restrictions. Please don't write to me asking what is involved with bringing this Datsun to the States. Answer is simple, nothing.... It requires nothing at all. It is antique status, free to travel, and was US titled.

Fully built, restored, and customized1975 Datsun 280Z
It would be a very lengthy proposition to itemize every individual thing that was done to this car so, I will write this description as a brief outline and synopsis.
If you are an interested buyer, there will be more than enough information to show exactly how truly far apart this car is set from the rest.
Let's start with the engineA Chevrolet 400 cubic inch small block V-8 was transplanted in favour of the original 6 cylinder. The engine was completely gone through and accessorized to work with this vehicle; providing excellent performance and reliability. Some items added include: high torque mini starter, lightweight aluminum flywheel, ceramic coated headers (for appearance and heat dissipation).
THIS CAR IS A BLAST to drive. Itaccelerates like nothing. It's pretty flashy and people seem to like the look of it. They stop in their tracks when they hear it though. It does not sound like what you'd expect. This is a well built marriage of muscle meets sports car.
Moving to the transmissionMost of these V-8 conversion Datsun Z-cars were done with an automatictransmission. Sure, that's easy. Where's the fun though? This conversion was done with the 5-speed standardtransmission from a 1990's Chevy Camaro. The clutch is a hydraulic unit with a slave cylinder, and the transmission shifter linkage was custom made. The shifter is in the stock position and works wonderfully. It is an absolute BLAST to drive!

DrivetrainPower is delivered to the rear differential via a custom made driveshaft with heavy duty u-joints. Speaking of the rear differential, it was sourced from a 300Z.
Steering and suspensionAll new. Far to much to outline. Car has new struts which lower it approx 1”. New brakes, new brake lines, new bearings, newpolyurethane bushings, new tie rods.
InteriorOnce again, far far too much to list.New seats (heated!), new Auto Metergauges, new carpet, new moldings, new seals, new shifter boot. Entire passenger compartment lined with sound deadener.
BodyCOMPLETELY ROTISSERIE RESTORED. Body media stripped to bare metal, then fully restored. Painted custom POPSICLE ORANGE. Undercarriage painted in black with a rust inhibitive coating.
Tires / wheelsRota turbine wheels installed brand new, with Falken rubber. Rims 16x8.

Lowest on Totem Pole...We bought this fairly recently. It was a good purchase and we were thrilled. The car was meant to look good in the garage alongside the others, and take to shows. Almost immediately, something we really really prefer and have been wanting for a long time came up. We have a small collection and like so many other people.... are limited to space. If something new comes, something else has to go. The others have been with us longer; some very sentimental and others heirloom pieces. This was lowest on the Totem Pole. The fellow we purchased it from is a GREAT GREAT GUY. We had a blast meeting him and it was an excellent purchase. He had bought this car on eBay 6 years ago, spent over $12,000 ensuring everything was absolutely right, then bought something he preferred. He didn't even put 200 miles on and sat on it for 6 years. My wife and I had a small discussion and decided we don't want to leave the car sit another 6 years.

Value...This car has thelengthiest appraisal report I've ever seen. There's an immense amount of information to cover. It documents the value of this car at $32,500. Since the report, over $12,000 has been spent.

This auction is unreserved.
  • I don't mindlosing a few dollars and we've taken that into consideration.
  • Please be considerate when bidding or making an offer (yes, I will close auction for right offer. Goahead.... try us with one.)

Starting price is 250 dollars. Asides from helping arrange your shipping, I have no time to take 99 more pictures, or have 2-hour long conversations. I don't have time to take even 1 single solitary additional picture, then load and send it; please don't ask. It's probably a misnomer to say I don't care about price, but I am knowingly sacrificing dollars to put more emphasis on a hassle-free and quick sale. As such, I am not going to get into long drawn out discussions as to whether it's a 6.5/10 condition, or 7/10. Let's just call this a 1/10. Perspectives vary so, for ease of sale, please disregard everything else and assume this car is an awful wreck salvage-value project vehicle that is needing everything. My goal is to avoid insincere and zero-feedback bidders who will not follow through with their commitment. My other goal is to find somebody genuine, who will really appreciate this really nice little car.
Also, very important....review our feedback please. Each is for a 40+ year old vehicle!

During our time on eBay, we've figured out2 very important things arecommunicationandprocedure. We have a little procedure. Our little procedure focuses on communication. It goes as follows:
  • After auction, we ask for your buyer's information.
    • You supply.
  • We fill in transfer papers and scan/send to you.
    • You confirm spelling and information correct.
  • You go to your bank, and send funds.
    • We validate receipt.
  • We begin on shipping,
    • ...keeping you informed every step..
  • You receive your cool vintage Datsun Z-Car
  • You leave us a fabulous feedback,
We're not interested in Paypal or deposits... I realize I'm somewhat the anti-salesman and have taken intentional strides to heavily under-represent this vehicle. That's fine. Of importance to us right now is a smooth sale to a genuine buyer. If you are bidding, please be serious as I am and understand our adherence to this little system/procedure. It's to help both of us. If, for any reason, you cannot adhere to this procedure, please let us know BEFORE BIDDING. OR,....IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK OR ARE NEW TO EBAY YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING.Otherwise, I will cancel your bid.

DELIVERY:...to most states and destinations is in the $1500+ range. Please keep that in mind. Budget for at least this amount. Texas and Florida, and other far southeastern states, are obviously a bit more at minimum $2250-ish. Any required inspections, certifications, registrations, paperwork, or anything else are the buyer's responsibility. I don't know the rules in each particular state so, am selling as per Alberta rules. My wife has become pretty good at setting up shipping and, is happy to assist. Rest is up to you. Payment is by bank transfer, US account to US account. As stated, I don't ask for Paypal. Once payment is received, everything else is ready to proceed from there. I believe putting this little car unreserved will easily make up for any shipping costs. Somebody's bound to get a heck of a deal.
PICKUP:....not really recommended. See our procedure. I'll elaborate. It's a 40+ year old classic. Regardless of dollars spent, old vehicles are unpredictable by nature. I'm not the seller that'll tell you that I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country. I'm not, and I simply won't say that. Besides....I've got 2 more vehicles to sell after this. I just simply will not risk someone being unhappy and wrecking my feedback.
CALLS:If you'd like to speak over the phone, I'm happy to hear from you. Please write and we'll make arrangements.
If you are fromOVERSEAS,please know we have shipped long distances many times. We are happy to assist. Since beginning to narrow down ourinadvertent collection a couple years ago, we've sold to England, France, Germany, Holland, Slovenia, as well as theMiddle East and New Zealand.

Ibelieve that covers everything.
Good luck and happy bidding!
