Description of 1970 Datsun Z-Series Series 1 240z |
Welcome. You are bidding on a 1970 Datsun 240z. I bought this car earlier this year and was planning on spending some time taking this car to the next level. I have come to realize that I am not going to have the time. This car comes with a clean Oregon title, bill of sale and spare parts. Please take a look at the pictures below and look at the 150 additional pictures that I have put in a photobucket album. I am happy to help assist in out of state or overseas shipping if needed. Please let me know if you have any questions. http://s263.photobucket.com/user/MrBMW2002/library/1970240z History: This car was from Oregon and remained in a long term owners garage for many years. The gentleman I purchased the car from was a family friend of the long term owner and acquired the car sometime ago. He send the carburetors out to be rebuilt, added headers, and made sure the car was a smooth running reliable vehicle. Exterior: This car was originally orange. You can still see some of its original paint peeking through in some areas, but the repaint in red was done very nicely and covered most of the factory paint. This paint shows very nice and is in very good shape. There are some minor blemishes and a couple of rust bubbleshere and there which I have taken pictures of. The car had rocker trim added in the past and they have since been removed. There is still evidence by some small screw holes that were used to attach them. I have also taken pictures of these. The hood has been replaced with a later 280z unit. This car shows no signs of any collision or accidents. There is a small dent in the floor board from what appears the car ran over something. I have also taken a pictures of the dent. This car has a set of new wheels and tires. Interior: The interior on this car is very clean and presentable. The dash is in excellent shape. Most of the gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge. The seats are in very good shape as is the headliner. Engine/Transmission: This car starts right up and has been very reliable for me. It is a nice driving car. As I stated earlier the carburetors have been rebuilt, a new header/exhaust was added(still have the factory unit). The muffler does rattle a bit at certain RPMs. The transmission shifts through its gears smoothly. I have driven this car around town and it has performed great for me. Overall: This is a great chance to get into an early VIN 240z. This car is a great daily driver and is an joy to drive. It hasa trunk load of spare parts that all go with the car. This would be a great car to return to its original Orange paint. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. |
