V8Conversion

This car has been in my possession since 2015. I am 73 yearsold and have health problems that force this sale. The previous owner had usedthe car for a V8 and 5 speed conversion, installing a 1987 Ford 5.0 H.O. alongwith a T-5 world class transmission. I have continued to go through and upgradethe shocks, radiator, suspension, instruments, seats and interior. The car hasperformed very well on the roads and environment here in AZ.

The four core Datsun radiator was fabricated for this extremeweather along with a thermostatically controlled fan. The 5.0 V8 engine gives alow sound and turns heads before the car is seen. The T-5 transmission makesfun out of modern highways.

K sport coil over top adjustable shocks were pro installedand ride height adjusted. The stance is typical of the ‘70s where the rear is 1inch higher than the front. The body is a 2+2 and the rear seat has beenremoved for usable cargo space. (The 2+2 seat and back comes with the sale andcould without too much effort be re-installed.) The factory 14” aluminum wheelshave only minor surface scratches, no dents or road rash. All four tires areGeneral Altimax RT43, 205/70 R14 with approximately 2k miles. The enginefeatures stock fuel injection and makes high altitude performance fun. The 15gallon fuel tank was also a modification to a Ford unit. It is a modern baffledunit with the new correct fuel pumpinside, having no corrosion. The front brakes have Toyota truck calipers anddiscs and provide a big improvement. This is a common and well-knownmodification. The differential unit is a R-200.

The car has been in CA and AZ all its life and is very solid.One patch (6x6) to the passenger side floor was previously made. The car waspainted four years ago from red to Snow White. The paint is of good qualityhaving the usual small stone chips not able to be captured with a camera. A canof spray and a can of the paint has been retained and available. One bubble thesize of a quarter exists on the driver’s side before the rear wheel (picturetaken). The paint has a high luster and no swirls. The door jambs and hoodunderside have been painted.

The car has a pop-up sun- roof and the two panels may also beremoved. This was a PO item and was a popular mod back in the ‘70s. The hatchseal is new as well as the doors. The glass seal is intact but has begun tobubble.

The dash has a replacement shell. The instruments are factoryexcept for the tach, oil, and temp gauges which are new. The Tach is a SunproII with working shift light is new. The factory amp gauge has been disconnected.The seats are from a Honda Prelude and are cloth in great condition, with highbolster to hold one in the seat. The after- market stereo is a JVC with 4speakers. The padding and carpet is new. The rear spoiler and front air dam weremodifications. The daytime driving lights are safety items. The headlights area conversion kit with relays and provide excellent night vision. There is no A/Cbut there is heat.

This car has been used for pleasure, car shows and cruises. Itdraws attention at shows and on the road due to the stance and sound. The 2+2 bodydesign lends a sort of elegance and is not quickly recognizable. The car isvery dependable. Manuals and build notes as well as receipts will be with thesale.

This car is rare since it was the first year for the 2+2 bodydesign and the first year for the 260 Z designation. To accommodate the rearseat a foot longer wheelbase was required. This makes for a much smoother ride.The difference is remarkable.

I have no way of computing the mileage except that I amresponsible for the last 6k miles. All fluids have been recently changed.
