Description of 1965 Datsun roadster |
A pair of 1965 SPL310 Datsun 1500 Roadsters in unrestored condition. Both cars are mostly complete Arizona cars with minimal rust but have been living under tarps outside for the better part of 3 years and come with the expected dust, leaves, spiders and whatever else you might imagine under these conditions. Everything sold as is where is. Highest bidder takes everything for both vehicles as is where is. The Blue is one of those low VIN anomalies you've heard about. Likely built in 1964 it is stamped VIN 67 on the frame and plate. parked 30 years ago in a garage and sat unchanged until I got ahold of it and took the motor and trans out. There is a large dent in the passenger front fender. It has all appropriate badges, trim and hubcap, one hubcap has minimal damage but should be easy enough to repair. Appears to be original paint. I have the original engine block has #3 cylinder wall gouges and all parts from it but it's all been out in the weather and in a bin and in rough shape. I suppose you could rebuild if you really wanted to. Interior is in rough shape, missing the 3rd seat, upholstery is shot or nonexistent, but all the gauges and key and stuff is there. Hood is off the hinges and hood release cable is broken. there is some evidence of body work here and there, doors do not close properly but all canopy parts are present as far as I can tell. Bumpers look wonky, No title with this one but I know the folks who sold it to me, they couldn't find it, but assured me that I could get an abandoned title without fuss for it. Red one is true 65, the guy I bought it from years ago claimed it ran but needed trans swap and included replacement that lives in the trunk. trim is off the body but stored in the cab. no hubcaps. Has a hardtop. interior is original and in considerably better shape than the blue one. no key. there is evidence of body work and repaint. Missing both bumpers. driver side door handle is wonky. It's missing the side mirror. Have a early JDM SR20DE and 5 speed trans that I bought from an import company a few years back was going to install in the blue one. It does not have a CPU but those are easy enough to source. Paid $800 for it and will include in the sale. Thanks for looking Happy Bidding. Contact me for more photos and information. |
