Description of 1971 Datsun Other |
1971 Datsun 240Z Series 1 5-Speed Manual, 70k miles VIN: HLS30-14408 I have never been able to confirm the number on the engine because I forgot to ask the mechanics when they tuned it to check, and I cannot get down there to see it. The mileage last I drove it was in the upper 60,000s but I don't remember exactly (and the battery is dead currently, see below). A previous owner installed wide tires with aftermarket rims— I have never had the original rims or tires. I am selling it because we need the money more than I need a classic car. I bought the car from an owner in California, where it had been for several years if I'm remembering the maintenance records correctly. Before that it was in Oregon where it had been shipped from Japan. I've done a bit to it since I bought it to the east coast in 2019:
Here are the issues I've identified:
My original intention was to restore the interior to as close to factory as possible with minor alterations (like the Speedhut gauges), then to remove the wide-body panels and replace them with originals as well and only drive it on weekends. It has a clean California title ready to be handed over. I have lots of maintenance documentation all the way from when it first came into the United States to now. It still has an original key chain from the dealership that received it from the port. Everything I have from and for the vehicle goes with the sale. If you have any questions, please ask. I'll do my best to answer you as quickly as possible. Car is sold as-is. I will need a $100 USD non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of purchase. Full payment will be due within 7 days. I'll accept payment as CASH (at a bank), CASHIER CHECK (must clear before car is released), or WIRE TRANSFER (must clear before car is released). |
