1981 DELOREAN DMC-12. STAINLESS STEEL COACHWORKS WITH GRAY LEATHER TRIM. 2.8 LITER V-6 ENGINE WITH 5-SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX. AN EXCEPTIONALLY WELL-PRESERVED ORIGINAL 14,914 MILE CAR.
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this mint original 15,000-mile DeLorean. This car was recently purchased from it's believed 3rd owner from the Pacific Northwest who purchased the vehicle from the Don Laughlin Museum car collection in Laughlin, Nevada. This car has been well-taken-care-of all of it's life and has just benefited from some recent service work including the upgraded fuel pump kit and fuel tank clean, new battery, new fuel accumulator and filter, and a full detail.This car presents cosmetically very crisp as it has been stored all of it's life indoors, away from the sun and other harsh elements. As a result, the interior and exterior plastics, leather, glass, and rubber items are in as new condition with hardly any signs of deterioration. The car's bodywork has a light brightness to the sheetmetal, revealing a sheltered and clean life indoors. The car's body is absolutely virgin and blemish-free, save for one very small mark on the RH front fender(pictured)
Mechanically it performs as new, as one would expect from a 15,000 mile car. The engine runs strong and cool with great oil pressure, the gearbox is tight and precise, and the car's steering and roadholding are perfectly up to the mark. The car has some slight trouble starting from cold, but our mechanic suggested that the choke system on the FI setup should work itself out and settle in with some use...
Overall, this exceptional, low mileage car is one of the best, mint original DeLoreans to be currently offered on today's market. It is a lovely honest piece, and the car's condition is truly commensurate with it's recorded mileage.
