Description of 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

No Reserve.

If you're looking for a great running Delorean to serve a daily driver and the occasional cars-n-coffee, this is it. I wouldn't call it show quality, but it has been an amazingly reliable and fun car for me to own.

I bought it about a year ago from a guy who had it in a collection. He drove it every 6 months to keep it running, but just to town and back. Since I took ownership, I've driven it every day that I've owned it. It makes nice daily driver, and I take it on most errands. I regularly take it to go visit my parents (an hour away) and the longest trip I've made in it is 5 hours round-trip in a day. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere right now. In fact, if you're within less than 4 hours from the Washington DC area, I'll deliver this car by driving it to you. Otherwise, buyer is responsible for shipping.
Everything on this car is in working order, except the speedo. It has been broken for 15 years, so it's true mileage unknown. I'd estimate it at about 120,000 - making it one of the more driven Deloreans on the planet.
Full details of the car can be found on deloreanforsale.com. Tons of photos and lots of detailed information (including flaws). If there are more photos you'd like, please let me know and I'll take them.
I've bought and sold 7 cars over ebay in the past 20 years. I do all I can to make the transactions go smooth, and ask the same of the other party. I invite you to come see the car if you can. If you can't, please message me with your phone number so we can talk before you bid. You're buying a classic car, you should want to talk to the seller and ask questions. I make it a point to make myself available for that.
I am on vacation starting Sept 2. Any sale and delivery should be completed before then, or it will need to wait until Sept 13 when I return.
(by the way, it looks like some buyer gave me negative feedback for an item I sold as "for parts and not working" without contacting me. Please feel free to review the other 20 years of feedback from people who know how to read a listing.)
