1981 DeLorean DMC-12, 1981

This 1981 DeLorean DMC -12 is one of the best examples of a showstopper. This time machine was originally purchased in 2010, from the DeLorean Motor Company in Bonita Springs, Florida. At that time the car had 17,500 miles, and to date the odometer reads a mere 19,366 miles. I was told that the vehicle was used as a training car for DeLorean technicians and upon purchase was provided all documentation to back-up that statement.

Unconventional in almost every way, the car has many innovative features including brushed stainless-steel body panels with black leather interior - equipped with a V6 RWD, manual transmission - gull-wing doors - air conditioning - power windows/locks/mirrors - tilt & telescopic steering wheel – tinted glass – spare tire & jack - body side moldings – epoxy coated frame - steel backbone chassis - rear-mounted engine and more…

Since I have owned the car, new gas struts for the Gull-Wing doors and the Louvers have been added. I also installed upgraded shocks, which were ordered direct from DeLorean Motor Company in Texas.

This car is correct (original) with numbers matching all the way down to the engine stickers. Many other ORIGINAL items are included, such as the original window sticker, original owner’s manual, original cleaning kit as well as a factory DeLorean car cover. This car also has the factory upgraded speedometer and upgraded gas filler opening in the hood (so you don’t have to actually open the hood to fill her up with fuel). This vehicle that has been maintained both aesthetically and mechanically. Original paperwork – accompanies the sale.

This car is ALL stock, with the exception of the Alpine stereo that is out of this world (pun intended) and truly completes the driving experience.

This car has been featured on the cover of the Champagne British Car Festival program guide AND was voted Best in Class. (Program and Poster included in the sale of this car).

This gem is immaculate for those who want a superb classic and a sound investment. I hate to part with it, but it’s time for the kids’ college fund to get a boost.

An absolute head-turner, this is a very recognizable movie car from the popular “Back to the Future,” trilogy, this model has a cult-like following and a host of clubs, collectors and fans worldwide.
