Description of 1947 DeSoto Suburban

This could be the restoration project that you have been looking for. A 1947 Desoto Suburban S-11. This car has its original L Head Straight Six. with oil bath air cleaner. Everything in the engine compartment seems to be there just needs the have the once over to replace all the wiring and rubber parts and tune up. This vehicle has the 139. 5 inch wheel base. This car hasn't been started in years. The body is in great shape for the years it has seen. Story has it that this Suburban/ Limousine was used in the San Francisco Bay Area to shuttle folks back and forth from the airport to the Hotels. Some of the exterior trim is in the trunk. mid trim line and just below the windows. Headlight buckets and rings as well. There are good tires on all 5 original steel wheels with 5 matching hubcaps. Glass taillights with rings. The front turn signals lens and rings. Missing front grill. currently on sale here on Ebay. Hood ornament missing. Rear fender rock guards. Radio is missing. Chrome strips for trunk area. Roof rack brackets are intact. but there is no rack. All glass is there and original. All of the headliner bows. Interior door chrome trim and door handles are intake. There is rust on the floor pan. and holes in floor pan on driver and passenger side. Extra intake and exhaust manifold. plus oil bath air cleaner. Steer wheel chrome is nice. but the rest of the wheel will need a full restoration. The reserve is set low on this rare Desoto. Sold with Bill of Sale.
