This classic green 1939 Desoto Series S-6 Custom 4 door touring sedan is a very nice all-original car ready to be driven, shown and enjoyed. Only 5,993 of this model were made. All the chrome trim, grill and bumpers are in good condition and the rust-free, dent-free fastback body is excellent. This fine automobile had a complete frame off restoration about 20 years ago. It still runs, drives and handles like a new 1939 Desoto. Every piece of chrome and stainless has been done on this Desoto. The steering is tight, brakes are excellent, rides very well. There is no rust in this car, no surface rust of any kind. Under carriage is all painted. It had new interior done with original type mohair, dash was wood grained, and instruments rebuilt, all lights work as well as the electric wipers. All the knobs, chrome and stainless inside were done. Running boards were re-vulcanized and the original pattern cut with c&c milling machine. Original 6 cylinder, 93 h.p. super economy engine and 3 speed transmission with electric overdrive were rebuilt. Shifts smooth and the overdrive works perfect. The five 15” tires are new and have about 80 % tread left. I have the original tires and wheels that go with the car. Original jack and lug wrench, owner’s manual and factory service manual. I have no 1939 Desoto hub caps.
