In the beginning, it was DeSoto's top-of-the-line performance car during the boom year of the late 1950's. The engine size and horsepower rating changed just as much as the body did. A 4-Door variant was not available until 1960 when it took place of the convertible. This was the last year for the Adventurer as DeSoto was on its way out of business and was the only year with a variety of colors to choose from.Part of a collection of 20 cars located and purchased to go in a museum honoring the founder of a family business who owned and drove these same cars. Recent circumstances changed the completion of the museum and all twenty automobiles were commissioned to be sold. All 20 under $30k, all 50's-60's American 4-door sedans, all in good working order and very good condition. The total expense in locating and purchasing, and reconditioning these Classics exceeded $600,000.
