1948 Desoto S11 Custom, Long Wheelbase Sedan

The car has what I believe to be the Original 237 Flat Head engine and fluid drive transmission. The car was restored about 7 years ago. The inner and outer Rockers were replaced due to rust and some other area, such as the spare wheel sump. All this work was very professionally done. The paint is single stage PPG Concept. The seats and door panels were reupholstered, and new carpet installed. All the weather strip was replaced along with window channels,etc… All necessary mechanical work include, new aluminum radiator, ( the car comes with the original radiator, but needs repair). New gas tank, brakes, lines etc… the car runs and drives nicely and is currently on the road and inspected. The chrome is mostly presentable. The front grill is pitted but still shiny. The car has a clean and painted undercarriage . The car has a few small quirks as any 74-year-old car would. The radio lights up but does not play. If the car sits for a long period of time the driver’s side front wheel seems to bind the first time you brake. And the kickdown is not operating. ( it’s supposed to drop into a lower gear when you floor the gas pedal to make hills or pass). I think it’s an easy electrical fix. If you are a potential bidder on this car, I think a one-on-one conversation or personal inspection would be in order. It’s much easier for me to honestly describe or show the car than writing a novel (LO).

As with most old cars, this sale will be as is, and payment should be made cash in hand or bank transfer. Specific photos are available upon request. I am listing this car for sale only because I am restoring a different car and could use the room in my garage. This car was originally a funeral coach that was retired to storage for 35 years. It is essentially a limo without a divider. Questions are welcomed and appreciated.
