This van was parked in the same garage since brand new up until this year. I bought the van from the original owner to use as a surf van / weekend camper and loved it so much that I decided to purchase a new Mercedes Sprinter Van that is better suited to the long trips I take than this old Sportsman. My loss is your gain, his old girl is a real gem!NO RESERVE AUCTION - this van will sell to the highest bidder. 1977 Dodge Sportsman with low miles (73376). This van lived the pampered life on the peninsula where it was lovingly cared for all its life by an enthusiast. She sat next to a corvette and was maintained and serviced by the original owner from 1977 until 2014 when he passed away. The family kept the emblems and the rear bench seats for memory sake, ut everything else is as the original owner left it. Truly a gem and quite possibly the nicest classic full-size van left from this era. Vans are making a comeback and it's about time! They are so practical and so cool at the same time. Toss your board in the back, r take it out for a weekend of camping; this van won't let you down. The body is immaculate. No rust at all and very little scratches or dents. The paint is a bit faded, ut it's the original coat- no resprays in its history. I tried to get shots of the wheel wells and rockers to show just how clean this body really is. Underneath is the same story; clean and rust free. The color is really beautiful, ut the pictures just don't do it justice. I took one closeup of the paint to try and show the metal flake in the brown. It's very, ery nice. The interior is equally as clean. The driver and passenger seats are in near perfect condition. The carpet has lived under plastic cover its whole life and it shows. The dash is without cracks and all the controls, uttons, evers, tc are present and operable. The headliner is without rips or stains and is very clean. I built a platform in the rear for camping on and sliding a surf board under, ut nothing was drilled into the van and therefore it can easily be pulled out.The van runs and drives well. It starts right up and goes right to high idle. I've had some trouble with it failing to kick down off high idle and I think it could use a good carburetor man (or woman) to take a look. I'm happy to have this done by my mechanic if the new owner desires. However, t runs, teers, bsorbs bumbs, nd stops as it was designed to. It is a very easy and comfortable drive for a 1977. This van was obviously well maintained.Other notes:Everything works as it should (interior/exterior lights, orn, linkers, adio, indows, ocks, tc).The routine maintenance is up to date (oil, il filter, ir filter, oints, oolant, nd brake adjustment) so the new owner can begin enjoying the van immediately. All the rear windows were tinted limo black with high quality tint (lifetime guaranteed not to fade or discolour). This is a necessity for van camping! The van is in San Francisco but I can deliver for gas money and a ticket back almost anywhere in the country (please send me a message so we can discuss details over the phone BEFORE you bid if you want me to deliver it. If you live really far I can tell you right now it would be more economical to have it shipped. I did a quick search and found shippers that'll take it across the country for well under a grand. Extra belts, uel pump, rake booster, nd other parts (see pictures)Comes with original owners manual, hich I think is too cool!No smog required, t's a classic! Please include you phone number if you have a question. I'm happy to call and chat on the phone about the van.
