Description of 1973 Dodge Dart |
I am the originalowner of this 1973Dodge Dart Sport. Purchasedbrand new from Towson Dodge in Towson MD onApril 12, 973 (have original invoice, itle & owners manual). This was my daily driver until 1984 at which timeshe was semi retired. She was under a carport from 1977 until 1986andthen parked in my garage in 1986 until present. From 1986 until present (29 years) I occasionally used the car every couple months or soto keepher mechanicallyfunctioning and road worthy. Duringthe late 80's there was some rust in the rear quarter panels and rockers.Rust was remove andpanels were patched. These repairs were primed as shown in the pictures but never painted. CarreceivedZiebart (rust proofing) when new - yellow plugs you see in picsis where rust proofing was sprayed into cavities. All paint is original as is most everything else on the car. Upholstery and carpet is original with the exception of the front seats. They were replaced with nos material from Legendary Auto Interiors. I recently purchased a new parchment body strip kit which is included. The vinyl top was replaced in 1981 andstill looks very nice. The underside of the car appears sound with little/some rust. There are afew small places where the floor panels are rusted through.Side bodypanelsshow the usual parking lot small dings anddentsfrom careless people during her early years. Bumpersare straight (no dents or distortions) chromelooks good from 5 feet away. Most of the glass is originaland looks nice -- driver's side door glass was replaced many years ago. Never any collision damage or "fender benders". She is exceptionally clean inside. Non smoking owner - no odor issues. Engine has never been apart. She runs good butsmokes when you rev engine. Transmission was rebuiltin 1980 at 78,000 miles -- still shifts nicely. Transmissionoil and filter changedin the mid 90's. Some suspension work was performed many years ago, all joints, ear leaf springs, hackles, hocks, tc. as well as replacement of gas tank and sending unit. Radiator wasrebuilt oncein the 80's. Brakes and exhaust systems have also been replaced several times over the years -- most recent repairs were during the mid 1990's. The car has always been maintained mechanically and cosmetically --drivenapproximately 200 miles a year since thelate 80's. She would be an excellent car for a complete renovation project especially since she had such a long pampered life with the same owner. My original plans were to complete a total restoration on the car when I retired. Now that I'm at that point in life Ifound my interests have changed. I have tried my best to accurately andcarefully describethe car for this auction. If you are seriously interestedthen I strongly recommend you inspectthe carin person. I would be happy to answer any questions eitherby email or phone.Car is for sale locallyso I reserve the right to end this auction early before reserve is met. If reserve is met than auction will continue and sell to highest bidder. Car is being sold "AS IS" without any warranties or guaranties expressed or implied.
