Description of 1978 Dodge Magnum XE |
New Page 1 1978 Dodge Magnum XE I am selling my 1978 Dodge Magnum as I will be needing additional garage space for my next car, o I have decided to sell my MAGNUM Without a doubt this qualifies as the finest examples of any 1978 Survivor Car in America... Surely it must be the nicest example of a 1978 Dodge Magnum Survivor Show Car on planet earth, first place wins whenever shown in its respective class. Original 53K mile TRUE CALIFORNIA CAR it's never left the state of California since I got it in 1978... NEVER... Yes a one owner car... I got this brand spanking new COMPLETELY & EXCEEDINGLY WELL OPTIONED... car new from West Valley Dodge (Now Defunct) in Los Gatos California 30 something years ago... Options include Basic Group — Air Conditioning, inted Glass ALL WINDOWS, ight Package, andau Vinyl ½ roof (very hot styling feature in 1978) Undercoating, ood Silencer Pad, eluxe intermittent Windshield Wipers that's for starters then let's add all these other luxury, ress up and convenience items listed below OPTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO Deluxe color keyed seatbelts, runk Dress-Up featuring carpet and chrome trim with space saver spare (Never Used to this day!), orqueFlight Transmission, 18-4V Engine, ual Sport Mirrors (body Color), lectronic Digital Clock, edal Dress-Up (chrome trim on Gas, -brake and Brake pedals to give a deluxe look!, ood and Deck Stripes, actory Vinyl body side molding, ocking Gas Cap, eluxe Protective rub strips on bumpers front and rear for much improved look, uto speed control, Power Steering, ower Brakes, ower Door Locks, ower Driver Seat, ower Trunk Release, ower Antenna, eather Steering wheel, ilt Wheel, /C (which still blows ICY COLD), ntermittent Wipers (new for 78 and rare), ruise Control, ual Sport (Racing Style) Remote Mirrors, runk dress up, ocking gas cap, ull Luxury Rub strips on bumper (Rare Option), luminum Fascia Road Wheels with XE Centers (Ultra Rare), ich Corinthian Leather (Driver Side Power Seat, assenger Power Seat was not an available option) Bucket Seats with Dual Recliners (1978 option only!) With separate center folding armrest option... (These are true individual bucket seats not a 60/40 deal!!!) This Magnum was Garage kept since new (still has new car smell... NO JOKE) This car is as close to flawless condition as one will ever find... this car has never been outside CALIFORNIA In its life... This is a TRUE CALIFORNIA CAR... Which is nice as cars on the east coast rust away to nothing... this car has never been in snow and rarely in rain... The seats are without any mark as they always had soft material placed on them and then I sat on that... no contact between my clothes and the seats is why they look as they do... FLAWLESS! Motive Power Comes in the form of the ultra-reliable and powerful 318-4V workhorse that runs like a Swiss watch. Starts and runs like a dream... Magnums despite their sporty good looks were not overly fast compared to a new Hellcat Challenger whether you got a 318, 360 or 400. This car has lightly and tastefully modified over the years with Carter 6139S Thermo Quad 4BBL (same as used as a replacement for the 71 Dart 340. True Dual Exhaust, range Box ignition, /T (Mickey Thompson) valve covers installed about 1980, nd the complete performance distributor kit from Direct Connection. This has the Heavy Duty 999 5-Clutch transmission rebuilt and improved by Automotive Performance Specialists as seen in Mopar Muscle Years ago... they manufacture parts to make a transmission shift like it should!!!... And does it ever... it's the finest shifting 3 speed torqueflite transmission you will ever drive precise and robust Just installed an NOS MOPAR Grille and NOS MOPAR Lights and NOS MOPAR cornering lights up front... these parts are always discolored or damaged BUT NOT ON THIS CAR!!!... I had them tucked away for years to make this Magnum even more factory fresh. Vehicle was painted years ago at great cost with German Glasurit Polyurethane Paint (MATCHED FACTORY COLOR) and hand striped by a master striper as seen in magazines... he did it in paint to all but very closely duplicate the original stripes... the Original tape stripes in my opinion looked cheap and not up to the caliber of Ricardo Montobalns Rich Corinthian Leather inside the car... There is not one door ding, scrape, hip or anything in this car, lass (Factory tinted all around) is awesome with ZERO delamination... the overall condition is positively a 9.9 Condition out of 10, arpet is flawless, ash is flawless with NO CRACKS.. Seats are PERFECT... This car IS NOT like the heaps one sees on eBay typically with rusted floors and blown out motors This is truly a "COLLECTOR GRADE ORIGINAL OWNER Survivor Car" ... could drive anywhere especially to shows... its one in a million.. It's not just any car... It's a REAL MAGNUM! I have all sorts of documentation and the original window sticker to authenticate this vehicle and its originality... I may even have the check that was originally written to buy the car... NOTE: This car has had the original Pollution Controls Removed years ago... May need them replaced to use on CALIFORNIA ROADS if this is a problem DO NOT BID... QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK!!! Comes with BRAND NEW WeatherShield HD $500 Car cover which just got delivered 20 mins ago by UPS !
