1980 Dodge Omni 024 with Detomaso PackagePlease read ALL of the description prior to making assumptions or asking questions that may have been answered.-Thank You-This car was purchased earlier this year as part of a large Shelby Dodge collection. It is recorded as one of the 1,333 such cars produced with the Detomaso package.I am also selling a 1981 Omni Detomaso, ne of 619, n a separate eBay auction! (only the 1980 Yellow car is in this auction) Check out my other items!I have spent much time researching and tracking down the history of this car as much as possible and have found a few answers. It was last purchased in 2008 by an Indiana collector, ut prior ownership is unknown. It is an interesting car either way. When I purchased this car, was told it was "running" but I have not been able to start the engine. With a fresh battery, he key does not get any response when turned in the ignition. It appears to be an electrical problem, ut I will not guarantee anything. Selling As/Is, here is. NOT RUNNING CURRENTLYSome historical info: "In 1980 and 1981, he Dodge Omni 024 was offered with a sporty, ptional trim: the "DeTomaso" package. The equipment list featured black trim and accents, front air dam, ender flares, ear hatch and side window louvers, ear spoiler, luminum wheels with 185/70-13 tires, brushed-alloy look roof band, eTomaso decals on the bodyside, poiler, nd windshield, ucket seats, pecial instruments, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, nique DeTomaso floormats, dash plaque, nd firmer suspension. A four-speed manual transmission was standard, ith automatic transmission as an option. For 1980, ars received a 1.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine. In 1981, the DeTomaso cars were built with the new Chrysler 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder engine. This 1980 example is equipped with the manual transmission. Of 1,333 built in 1980, t is believed that very few remain." Today the car shows 53,287 miles on the odometer. Based upon the lack of wear to the trim and interior components, tend to think the odometer is correct. The interior still has the rare Detomaso color-matched Yellow floor mats and dash emblem. The body is in solid shape with minimal rust and corrosion - especially for the age and era of this Dodge. The front passenger fender has been replaced (appears to be NOS part) and the fender flare molding has gone missing. Also missing is the front air dam. The other rear quarter louvers, ear hatch louvers and stainless "halo" are still attached and were originally part of the Detomaso Package. The pictures also show the spare tire storage area and undercarriage. While showing surface rust from missing paint, hese areas do not have any of the typical corrosion associated with a used 35 year old car! This Dodge could be restored or used in conjunction with another car (see my silver Detomaso auction Check out my other items!) It is not possible to know how many of these exist today, ut they very rarely surface at shows or for sale. Take advantage of this opportunity and low starting price in the auction. Based upon paperwork, esearch and observation, have done my best to describe the car completely. Please ask as many questions as needed prior to bidding and I will respond as quickly as possible.Located South East of Fort Wayne, N 46816... $100 Deposit Required Immediately with Buy It Now, ccepted Offer or End of Auction.
