Description of 1968 Dodge Charger

Ok, ere goes...This was my dream car. I've owned it for a long time. I bought it as a running project. It ran like crap. It came with a 440 out of a motor home and drove like a motor home. I had a 1968 Dodge 383 out of another Charger that I spent $5000 getting rebuilt at Burbank Speed & Machine. It was blueprinted and dyno-tuned with a Holley double-pumper. The car comes with all paperwork from the build. The engine was fogged and installed in the car a few years ago but has not been run since installation between these fenders; bolted to the torqueflite 727 automatic transmission. Comes with a new in box hi-torque mini starter. Under the hood the wiper motor has been rebuilt. The wiper arms themselves come with an upgrade kit to make them more waterproof and grease-able. Up front the hood hinges have been blasted and repainted. The hood and fenders are from a donor car. The hood has some surface rust spots and dings but is in great shape otherwise. The fenders have dings in them but could be pulled and massaged. I'm going to include a pin-welder setup with the car as I wont need it after this car is gone. Use it to help pull the dents if you're inclined. The doors are rust free but dinged. The passenger door is beaten up along the leading edge. I'm including a donor passenger door shell to replace it if you wish. It includes all of the doors hardware. These doors have been upgraded with electric windows and electric locks. The roof is rust free...amazing since it was originally a vinyl roofed car. Theres a dent above the windshield that isn't too bad. The original windshield is still there. Included is all window chrome trim. The B pillars are in good shape; passenger side looks great, river side needs to be cleaned up with filler, tc. Around the rear window (window has been removed from car but is included) there's a pin hole or two that needs patching. The lower window channel is rotted out like usual but im including a new rear deck filler; goes between the trunk lid and rear window, eplacing the rotted section. The trunk lid itself is perfect. The rear quarters have some dings and dents but I stopped working on the car trying to figure out how to repair the rear edge where the quarters meet the tail light panel and lower valance/corners. I was going to fabricate angle pieces to join the quarters to the tail but it's beyond my means, ithout replacing the quarters alltogether. I ran out of money and time to continue the project once I got to this point due to health issues in the family, adly. The car comes with a new tail light panel, ear valence, ront valence, orner pieces left and right, runk lock support piece. The trunk floor is new. The gas tank under it is new. The car comes with Stainless Steel Brakes disc brake kit setup front and rear. The front is installed, he rear is not but it comes with instructions and is still in the boxes. It comes with all brand new hard lines for the brakes. The SSBC kit comes with a new power brake booster and master cylinder as well as proportioning valves. Included is a second power brake booster in case you like that one better. Cragar SS wheels are what it sits on. The interior has relatively new black carpeting, he seat upholstery is newly installed on the original seat frames. The car came with a center console with console shifter. The dash is a rallye dash, ith a tic-toch-tach. Theres a cd player in the dash. All necessary glass is included of course. Theres a brand new headliner kit included as well as all necessary headliner rods. The front end has been rebuilt with PST polygraphite bushings and KYB shocks front and rear, ll new. The torsion bars are original. While talking about the underside of the car I have to mention why I think this project vehicle is worth more than most in this state of disassembly. Rust. Or, hould I say, ack of rust. It appears this car spent its life on the west coast in an arid climate. While the back window rust is pretty typical the rust of the car underneath is rust free. I scraped away the tar undercoating in many spots and found only body paint color. The interiors of the frame rails are as thick as the day they were made. There's no corrosion, o need for frame caps or rust repair work like I see elsewhere. It's got great bones. It's why I chose it. It kills me to have to sell it but without the resources or time to work on it its just going to collect dirt in my backyard and that makes me sad. So is this something you want to take on? If you've always wanted one and are handy with restorations you can get pretty far with what is included with this car. Please go through the included photographs, hey're going to show you exactly what youre getting and how much is included. I'll throw in a lot of the materials I purchased to build the car. Block sanding kit, ticky back sand paper in many grades, in-welder, shrinker-stretcher set-up, n Eastwood leading kit, number of welding vise grips, ome good body filler that may or may not still be good...I'll throw in as much of this stuff as you can carry. theres a wiring schematic. I've got a factory rebuild manual. It's beat up but it'll help you. Theres a battery relocation kit. A trickle charger, box of radiator hoses that came off it when I took it apart as well as some new ones. Theres more here than I can even list. You get multiple sets of tail lights; housings as well as lenses. Theres multiple front turn signal housings, ood signal lights, learance lights, ap light upgrade inside, tc...You also get the 440 engine that it came with and a Fel Pro gasket kit in case you want to rebuild it and put in a more exciting cam.
Now, s for shipping. The car doesn't run currently. As in, heres a fuel tank but lines aren't hooked up. Theres wiring here and there but its not hooked up. Some of the wiring harnesses are in boxes. You could probably get it started in about a day but I'm not going to do it so if you want this shipped to you it's going to cost you a chunk of money. It's also got no trunk rear so it really wouldn't be feasible to ship. I do have a trailer and would consider hauling it to you but it wouldn't be inexpensive as my free time is very short and valuable. Best thing is if you came and got it.
