Description of 1969 Dodge Charger |
You are bidding a 1969 Dodge Charger project vehicle. This is a BASE Charger with a non-original rebuilt 440ci motor, 27 trans and disc brakes. This is 1 of 3 '69 Chargers that are being listed for auction. The body is fairly solid since most of the damaged metal has been replaced. New quarter panels and trunk floor were installed at some point by a backyard bodyman. Solid used original fenders were installed and the original doors are in very nice condition. The undercarriage is decent with good frame, loors, orque boxes and braces. There is some trim which is in ok condition, o interior and the back glass is in the trunk. Grill looks nice. Bumpers and some misc pieces are in the car. Again this is a project vehicle and will need complete restoration. Driveline is a rebuilt non-original 440ci .030 ('77-'78 casting) with rebuilt mid-70's open-chambered heads. It was rebuilt in '96 but never fired and has been sitting in a heated garage since. I looked into most cylinders with a borescope and found that that cylinders have the cross hatching marks from boring, ew flat top pistons and no rust on the cylinder walls. The motor does spin freely! Again, have no idea of internal condition. Same goes for the transmission. Car does roll easy. Tires and rims are brand new but purchased years ago. This car has been sitting for awhile and has passed through many owners in this current state. Sold As Is! Please ask questions before bidding. I have tried to describe the vehicle as accurately as I can but I make no guaranties. NO RETURNS! THIS IS THE PREVIOUS AD FOR THE CAR FROM PREVIOUS OWNER EARLIER THIS SUMMER This Charger I consider as a good start to a restoration. 1969 dodge charger that has been in storage since 1996. Vehicle is registered in Tennessee has a clean Tennessee Title. The trunk pan was replaced and patch work was done in the quarter panels as in the early 90's the parts were not available like they are today. It's a 318 automatic on the column car that had a 440 with an automatic 727 transmission put in it. The 440 was fully rebuilt in 1996 bored .030 over but never was started. Because of sitting for so many years it is set up and will need to be taken back apart. The drum brakes on the front have been converted to disc brakes. Rear axle is an 8¼" not sure of gear ratio. The body work was done by a novice will need to be redone to make it super nice. It has all the windows except for the windshield. The only seat it has is the center buddy seat. The 2 doors do not have any lip rust. Trunk lid and hood have minimal lip rust. There are misc interior parts not pictured. Nuts and bolts, eadliner bows etc. Just bid on what you see the other trinkets are a bonus. It Does not have dash harness gauges etc. engine harness or front light harness.
