Description of 1955 Dodge Royal |
PRICE LOWERED!!!!!! Up for sale is a 1955 Dodge Royal Four Door Sedan D55-2 with a 270 cu in Red Ram (semi-hemi) V8 engine and a 2 speed Powerflite Automatic Transmission. The car currently has 84,022 original miles on it. I bought it as a project car when it was unearthed from storage last summer with the intentions of making a cruiser with original patina. It is a very complete car and to my knowledge original car. I fell in love with the patina of the paint, the very straight condition of the body, and the fact that all of the hard to find trim is on the car. When I bought it and I was told it ran back in 2008. Last summer, after I bought the car, I put a new battery, plugs, plug wires, NOS distributor, fresh oil, bypassed the fuel tank and got the engine fired up. The car also had no keys when I got it, but I pulled the driver door key slot out to get new keys made. The pictures are a good representation of the car. Keep in mind it is over 60 years old. The car has some rust in the areas which are notorious on these style vehicles: along the lower rockers, few spots in the rear fender around the wheel opening, and some minor spots in the floor, but there are some replacement panels available online. There are a few other rust spots under the car and on the rear bumper area (I tried to capture these in the pictures). The interior is definitely showing its age and would most likely need to be redone if your mission is to get the car driving on the road. It will also need a new master cylinder as the brake pedal goes straight to the floor. The oil pan is dented on the bottom – it looks like someone had a jack under it, but the car comes with a replacement pan and gasket still in the boxes. Depending on what you want to do with it email, call, or text (between 9:00am – 9:00pm ET) with any questions you may have and I can elaborate a little more if needed. I’m happy to answer any questions as well. 248.231.7196 I don’t need to sell it, just don’t have time for the project anymore, and I want to see it go to a good home so please be respectful and realistic with any offers. I’ve seen individual trim pieces in worse condition sell at swap meets for 1/5 what I am asking for the entire car. Sold as is – no warranties. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping arrangements. Car is located in the 20 minutes northwest of Detroit. $500.00 deposit payable through PayPal within 48 hrs of auction end. Remaining balance is due within 7 days payable with cash or certified funds. |
