Description of 1966 Dodge Charger |
You are bidding on a 1966 Dodge Charger . 383. which I have owned for several years. This car runs and drives great. I have done all of the heavy lifting. so someone simply needs to give this car some TLC to make it awesome. The following is a summary of everything I have done to the car (I am sure I am leaving something out):The engine has not been rebuilt. but was pulled. and had all the gaskets and seals replaced. Select parts were repainted. The engine well was sand blasted and painted. The engine runs very strong. There are no issues with the transmission - it shifts perfectly. I added a brake booster and dual reservoir master cylinder. so the car stops very well. Carb. alternator. water pump. etc. have been replaced. as have all the hoses and belts. I have an extra carb. and rebuild kit that come with the car. The car was completely rewired - new harness. wiring. etc. All exterior and interior lights work great. The instrument cluster is a Chrysler. period specific cluster. but not original to the car. It was working recently. but is not currently - probably something simple. The car has an aftermarket tac. temp. gauge. etc. The head lamps open and close perfectly! The carpet and headliner were replaced. They are a 7 or 8 out of 10. The wheels were sand blasted and repainted. The floor pans and trunk pans have been replaced. The following are issues that need to be addressed:This car needs to be sand blasted and repainted. It was sandblasted down to bare metal about 5-6 years ago. I personally ensured any and all rust was replaced with new metal. with as little filler as possible. However. the paint has faded and bubbled in some areas. and there are very obvious issues with the paint (it sat outside at a Classic Car dealership in the area for a year or so). Some of the metal has pitting. which is common (side mirrors. rearview mirrors. etc. ). The chrome needs attention. but is all there and intact. The tires need to be replaced before the car can be driven any significant distance. Although I replaced all the carpet and the headliner. I have done very little to the rest of interior. The seats need re-upholstered. The emblems are what I would consider driver quality. but could be refurbished. The A/C does not work. I have not attempted to fix. and do not know what it would take to resolve. I would recommend flushing the gas tank. or replacing. In short. this car is structurally and mechanically sound. The vast majority of the issues are cosmetic. so you could drive and enjoy this car while these issues are addressed. Please feel free to contact me for more details - I am committed to a fair transaction for both myself and the buyer. |
