VIDEO AT BOTTOM OF AD! YOU ARE BUYING A 1966 DODGE DART 270 2 DOOR HARDTOP WITH 54,520 ORIGINAL MILES. THIS DART HAS A 273 V8 ENGINE WITH A HOLLEY 2 BARREL CARB, AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING. IN 1966 DODGE ONLY PRODUCED 6,600 OF THE 2DR HARDTOP'S IN V8'S. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT AT A STORAGE AUCTION RECENTLY WHERE IT HAD BEEN SITTING SINCE 2010. I WAS GOING TO START IT AS A PROJECT BUT CHOSE SOMETHING ELSE INSTEAD. INSIDE THE CAR WE FOUND 3 RECORD BOOKS FROM 1984, 1985 AND 1986 SHOWING EVERYTIME THE CAR WAS FUELED UP AND HAD ANY REPAIRS DONE TO IT (THESE BOOKS WILL COME WITH THE CAR). THE LAST ENTRY IS FROM JULY OF 1986 AND THE MILEAGE WAS 54,298 MILES. AS OF RIGHT NOW THE CAR SHOWS 54,520 MILES.PAPERWORK FOUND IN THE CAR SHOWS THAT IT WAS A RELATIVE OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER SO WE ARE THE 3RD OWNER OF THE CAR BUT THE 2ND OWNER NEVER DROVE IT AS IT WAS APPARENTLY INHERITED/PASSED DOWN. CAR ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL. INSIDE THE TRUNK OF THE CAR IS AN EXTRA RADIATOR, EXTRA SINGLE BARREL HOLLEY CARB, AN EXTRA A/C COMPRESSOR UNIT, A POER STEERING PUMP, SOME SPARE COOLING FANS, AND LOTS MORE. (SEE PHOTO) LOOKING AT THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR, IT APPEARS TO ONLY HAVE ABOUT 55,000 MILES ON IT. THE INTERIOR NATURALLY HAS HEAT/SUN CRACKS BUT THE DOOR PANELS AND THE GAUGES LOOK VERY NICE FOR THEIR AGE. THE WINDOW CRANKS AND OTHER CHROME ON THE DOOR PANELS ARE WEATHERED/PITTED. THE IGNITION LOCK WORKS SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO WIGGLE IT SO PROBABLY NEEDS A NEW IGNITION. I DIDNT EVEN ATTEMPT TO RUN THE A/C KNOWING HOW LONG THE CAR HAS SAT BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT TO BURN UP THE COMPRESSOR. THE REAR INSIDE PANEL THAT IS MISSING IS IN THE TRUNK AS IT APPEARS SOMEONE WAS SLOWLY WORKING ON THE CAR. WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, IT WAS MISSING A COIL, SOME SPARK PLUG WIRES, AN AIR FILTER AND THE GAS TANK WAS IN THE BACK SEAT. THE GAS TANK IS EITHER BRAND NEW OR WAS FRESHLY REDONE AS IT IS SHINY BLACK. WE HAVE SINCE MOUNTED AND INSTALLED THE FUEL TANK, A NEW SENDING UNIT, A NEW FUEL FILTER, A NEW COIL, SOME USED SPARK PLUG WIRES, AN AIR FILTER,FRESH OIL, NEW OIL FILTERAND FRESH COOLANT AND THE CAR RUNS! OBVIOUSLY IT SMOKES A LITTLE AND RUNS ROUGH AS IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 30 YEARS. ALL WE HAVE DRIVEN IT IS UP AND DOWN THE STREET A FEW TIMES, SO IT NEEDS TO BE RUN TO REALLY FLUSH OUT EVERYTHING. THIS CAR RUNS BUT IS NOT ROAD WORTHY AS THE TIRES ARE PROBABLY 30 YEARS OLD AND IT HAS NOT BEEN TEST DRIVEN A LONG DISTANCE. WHEN THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING UP AND DOWN THE STREET THE SPEEDO WAS WHINING AND THEN JUST STOPPED AND STOPPED WORKING SO I THINK THE CABLE IS PROBABLY SNAPPED OR WORN FROM SITTING SO LONG AND NOT BEING GREASED. THE CAR DOES HAVESOME BONDO REPAIR TO THE LEFT HAND SIDE BEHIND THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE DRIVER DOOR HAS SOME HEAVY DENTS AT THE BOTTOM AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS . OTHER THAN THAT, THIS CAR IS PRETTY STRAIGHT AND HAS NOHEAVY RUST THAT WE CAN FIND,JUST SURFACE RUST. THE WINDSHIELD DOES HAVE A HUGE CRACK IN IT BUT ALL THE OTHER GLASS LOOKS GOOD. OUR MECHANIC DID SAY THAT HE THINKS IT IS NOT THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IF YOU LOOK AT THE PHOTOS YOU WILL SEE IT WAS PAINTED BLUE AND SOMEBODY MADE THEIR OWN BRACKET TO SUPPORT IT UNDERNEATH THAT IS CRACKED. THIS IS A NICE CHANCE TO BUY A CHEAP STARTER CAR FOR YOUR COLLECTION OR FOR YOU TO REBUILD WITH YOUR KID(S).
