Description of 1979 Dodge D150 :Lil Red Express |
1979 Dodge Lil Red Express This truck is a very original example with all parts present. These trucks are very incomplete and missing original parts when you find them. This one has all its original parts, carb, distributor, all emissions, still has cat-converters, glass, etc, The truck has the bucket seat option along with AC, the 8-track was added. All labels are on the truck including the equipment label. Some of the paint is original and some areas look to have been refinished. I can tell you its all lacquer paint, no BC/CC. The paint is in good overall condition but it is not a rubbed out show car paint job. This is what I would call a good driver quality car, the paint is good but not perfect or show quality. There are paint chips, small dings, and things you would expect from an almost 'survivor' condition car. The chrome is in good condition and shows well. There is also no rust on the truck, I do not know all the history but from what I was told this was always a weekend driver and then a dealer in MD kept it in his show room for a while in the early 2000's. The mileage shows 56K and I believe that to be correct. I have no documentation to authenticate it other than condition, an oil change sticker in the door jam from 1985 @ 47K, and another sticker on the window for 57K miles for next oil change. That dealer went out of business at the beginning of the recession, ~2008. The engine/trans/rear are all original to the truck. There is no such thing as numbers matching with these trucks, no VIN stamps. However there are stamps below the DS cylinder head that all match up with the production date of the truck, and there is no VIN on the PS pad. I have owned the truck for one year and I have done a few things - re-core original radiator, rebuilt carb, and refinished the dash along with other general maintenance. I am selling this to free up money to work on another project. Too many irons in the fire. Car can be viewed in Windsor, PA or if it does not sell here it will be at Chrysler's at Carlisle in the car corral - CA135. I encourage you to come see the truck if your interested. I personally would never buy a car without seeing it in person. Please let me know what questions you have. Here is a link to a walk around video: https://youtu.be/GOhnhMRFksI I'm not interested in shipping and out of country sales. CONUS only. Cash or Bank Wire for payment.
