Description of 1970 Dodge Challenger

70-71 E body project cars have all but disappeared over the last couple years and the few that remain can be expensive. This car may need some sheet metal work but you have to HAVE one to BUILD one and if you cant afford a Hemi or six pack car this is the one to have. It is an RTSE 383/auto car with AC. There were only 2522 total 1970 RTSE 383 cars produced. It is a nicely optioned car still with its original fender tag and it’s the very desirable Hemi orange with a white vinyl top, white bumble bee stripe and burnt orange leather interior. It still wearing its original paint job from 1970 but someone had removed the vinyl top and the roof had started to rust so I sanded it down and sprayed a couple coats of white epoxy primer to protect it. The car needs full floor pans including under the rear seat and a trunk floor but all the frame rails are good except for a small spot on right rear under the truck floor that should be patched. I wouldnt change out the whole frame rail. It doesn’t need it. The firewall also needs some work. The LH door is good but I cant get the RH door open to check it. Someone took the door hardware out and I don’t have time to fight it. The inner and outer wheel houses and both quarters are exceptionally good. Both fenders need a little work but are very useable. Some dipstick took a torch and cut the rear bumper off and butchered the rear valance in the process. The hood is a brand new $600 AMD piece. I cant find any evidence of any collisions so it doesn’t look like it was ever wrecked. I would guess the orig engine blew and the car sat parked for years with parts getting sold off from time to time as was the case for many of these olds mopars. Most of the chrome trim is still with the car but if u don’t see it in the pix don’t count on getting it. I may have an extra set of windshield trim but no promises. The rear window trim is just laying on the glass for the pic but its complete as is the ultra rare SE only rear window plug. The grill is pretty nice and has orig emblems. The original shifter is in place but no console and I don’t have the drivers door panel. The engine is an E 383 HP with the correct 906 heads and I tore it down and was surprised on how clean it was. Very little ring ridge. See pics but all this motor needs is bearings and rings and I would re-use the orig pistons (after sand blasting them of course). It is standard bore too and yes it spins freely. I have it just sitting on the K frame with wood blocks for transporting. The transmission is a correct 1970 383hp (for cuda and challenger only) PK3410668 and it will need a full rebuild. Neither the engine nor the trans are original to this car but are about as close as you can get. The rear is the orig 8-3/4 with the correct big pinion 489 case. I don’t know what gear it is. What u see in the pix is all I have for it but I do have a front bumper and bumper brackets that I forgot to take pix of that is included.

I have done my best to describe this car but there is no accounting for individual taste. As usual winning bid is NOT an invitation to inspect but a legally binding contract to purchase. This car is available for inspection any time prior to auction ending. I urge any interested parties to either inspect car themselves or send someone to act as their agent. YOU WIN THE AUCTION I EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THE CAR. This car is sold without warranty. 20% non-refundable down pymt due7 days after auction end. Vehicle must be picked up within 3 weeks or storage charges will apply.

Don't bother emailing me with pointless questions like "what is least you will take for it"? (I want the most I can get, duh!) or "what is your reserve"?

If your a serious buyer make me a serious offer or just bid on it.

WHATEVER YOU DO DONT BID ON IT IF YOU CANT COMMIT. I don't have time or patience for buyers who back out after they have won the auction and outbid other parties who may actually want the car.
