What makes for an unbeatable collectable? Original motor...check. Low mileage...check. Original bodywork and paint...check. Oh yeah, this 1993 Dodge Viper has all the right hallmarks of a collectable, and of course, the fact that it's a rip-roaring V10 speed machine already makes it irresistible.Viper Red is truly a remarkable color that has become so iconic, you often see older hot rods resprayed this vivid hue. So to have a roadster still in its original red, and looking this impressive, is a showstopper all on its own. Just like the Shelby Cobra, this was built to be lightweight. The Viper body was rendered in plastic, not aluminum like the Cobra, but the resemblance is definitely there. The giant motor was cloaked in a minimalist swoopy design that earned its snake bitten name. This car still has two zeros on the left side of its odometer, so while it might have been enjoyed occasionally, there wasn't enough seat time to get into any trouble.Speaking of little seat time, the interior shows little signs of use, too. The gray leather bucket seats keep you planted behind the wheel, and there's no room for sliding around in an interior that completely envelopes the driver. Your arm fits so that your favorite resting spot is right on top of the stick shift. A full gauge package is at eye level, and the black-on-white background readouts couldn't be simpler. The leather on the three-spoke sports steering wheel, gear leaver, and parking brake are a nice black to go with the carpeting to give you a cool two-tone effect. While these early Vipers are a great exercise in speed through minimalist motoring, there were some helpful upgrades added to this car. It includes the removable hardtop that was available in later years, and upgrading the stereo to a newer Kenwood AM/FM/CD unit that also accepts Bluetooth and an input for your iPod.Tilt that large hood forward, and there's no mistaking the Viper's gorgeous red cast aluminum intake manifold and valve covers on this low mileage example. This all original powerplant delivers its 400 horsepower with the kind of force that will snap your head back like a snake on attack. You get complete control of this via six-speed overdrive manual transmission that then sends the power to a beefy 3.07 limited slip rear end. This is backed up by a fully independent suspension, large four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and super-sticky Michelin Pilot tires (and everyone loves those factory three-spoke alloys, too!) While all of this keeps the Viper nicely planted on everything from the backroads to the racetrack, you are a pure intimidation machine just standing still thanks to rumbling sports exhaust that bellows right below your ear. This is a one-owner car that comes complete with the original window sticker and owner's manual. There's even the maintenance records that will show plenty of recent investments in keeping this survivor Viper in top condition. You can collect this roadster or you can enjoy it on the road, and we recommend you do both. Just be quick enough before someone else captures this desirable snake. Call today!!!
