Description of 1959 Dodge Coronet |
1959 Dodge CoronetOriginal flathead 6. Powerflite 2-speed push button automatic. power steeringNo Reserve!Up for bid is my 1959 Dodge Coronet 4-door sedan. As you can see. she is rough; she has plenty of rust. but still runs and moves under her own power. I hate to see her scrapped or even parted. she would make such a fun cruiser with minimal work and investment. Please read the description thoroughly before placing a bid. I am listing at no reserve. so please be intentional when bidding. Mechanically. the flathead six runs and she goes through the gears. She is in dire need of a water pump. as it leaks and chirps when running. There are no brakes to speak of. and the gas tank condition is unknown. I have her running from an auxiliary can under the hood. These are the problems I am aware of; I would recommend a thorough mechanical examination before putting her on the road. But the water pump. brakes. and gas tank are the start. She was inspected in 2009. so she hasn't been off the road too long. The tires are very old and would need replacing as well. The headlights don't work. I have not looked into the reason. The body is straight as you can see. but rusty. The rockers are shot. The floors are shot. The trunk floor is shot. However. what I can see of the frame it looks good. The interior is functional. the seats are in good shape. as is the headliner. The door panels need work. all but one have been removed and are in the trunk. I have all the window cranks. door handles. and arm rests. The steering wheel and dash are in nice shape. Although there is a decal on the ash tray panel. above the radio. that appears to be from the 1980s. I bought this car from a fellow enthusiast a little over a year ago. with the intentions of making a daily driver out of her. something you don't see everyday. However. my other projects seem to be unwilling to be completed without my undivided attention. so I have decided to let the Dodge go. Make no mistake. she is rough. but she could be tough! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions. I will do my best to answer. I am in middle Georgia. just above Macon. close to I-75. Georgia is a no title state for old cars. so she will be sold on a bill of sale. No reserve. please bid responsibly. Thanks! |
