Description of 1938 Dodge Other Pickups |
This is a project truck. The original frame has been modified and now has a Mopar 8 3/4 rear differential. The front is square tube with a Mustang II suspension. I'm not a fan of the Mustang II front and I don't like the way it's set up, so my plans were to redo the front part of the frame and put a straight axle under it. The body is solid. The only rust is the bottom front outside corners of the doors that have about a 2.5x3.5 inch piece of sheet metal that was cut out and needs to be replaced. It has a CLEAR TITLE from Idaho, signed and ready to go. Included are the following: the cab and doors, the bed, the frame, the hood with side skirts, the grill and headlight assembly, the front fenders, running boards, a full set of glass, although one door glass has cracks. No tail gate or rear fenders. The only other major component not included is the steering column. It also does not have the center floor transmission hump, but a new one would have to be fabricated for a newer style transmission anyway. There are also miscellaneous parts included, such as door handles, latch and window mechanisms, window trim pieces, and the side panels that fit between the bed and running boards. Included are a Chevy 350 and a TH350, and it is set up for them. The condition of the engine is really unknown, it turns over and I was told it runs. The transmission is used but low mileage. The wheels are vintage ET Hurricanes. The rear tires are wide and like new, and the front are fair. The truck is PICK UP ONLY since there are so many parts included. I will not be involved in any packing up, shipping or delivery to a terminal, primarily because I am old and disabled, so I'm just not willing to attempt it. The last picture is how it looked when I got it. All other pictures are how it looks now. |
